Samsung monitor Hi !i have 17" Samsung CRT, monitor. when i start it is very dim and slowly it gains the brightness and same time picture vibrating very fast in veritical direction and slowly it settels down to static. it makes chirping sound as if some charge is leaking. what should i do??thank you

On these older CRT monitors when you have that type of problem it indicated that the high voltage power supply is not putting out the right voltage to charge the picture tube. As the power supply gets weaker the time to show a picture will take longer and longer. It is not worth repairing the unit because parts will run much more than a replacement monitor.

check you monitor controls!! check the monitor's contrast control and brightness controls. these are the push buttons on the front of the monitor. or they may be knobs that you have to rotate either left or right to adjust the image on the screen. if it is an lcd monitor then please refer to the user's manual for that monitor.

It is possible that the monitor settings have changed. There should be a menu or settings button on the monitor. Try to increase brightness and decrease contrast.
Unfortunately, it is much more likely that your monitor is failing and needs to be serviced or replaced. Given the price of monitors replacement is probably the least expensive solution.

When the LCD monitor display is dim or flickers and or has a black screen then the fault is usually a faulty inverter or the CCFL lamp. When you look at the screen at a sharp angle and you see a dim image then it is a backlight problem and it is caused by a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp.

Easy, simply hold the MENU button down 20 seconds (seriously!) and the message is replaced by "Control Unlocked" and you gain access to your menu again.

do you have a power saver if so check to see what the setting it is

You should have a p0rogram installed that can do it. It might be listed under samsung in your programs. If not there, look in your video settings.
