Question about Televison & Video
Color detection was intermitent when turned on and now displays only black & white.
The best place to get a schematic would be from the manufacture Zenith, However you can try www.servicemanuals.net The cost for the schematic is $23.99.
I would suggest you start by using a color bar generator to send a known good signal in to the RF connector on your tV then go to the output of the video detector to look at the video signal, what you should find will be on the schematic, which should be the video signal with color burst if the color burst is not present or low in amplitude this is your problem and the trouble is happening before the video stages. If the burst is ok the you will have to test along the video path until you get to the point that the burst signal is no longer present, and then you will know the stage which the problem is occurring.
In any event you will need a schematic, multimeter, oscilloscope, and signal generator (color bar and raster purity)
