Tv goes a pinkish white flash and turns off after 5 minutes will keep repeating this after a break of 10 minutes and after 3 or 4 attempts the tv will then work as normal the rest of the evening?

The Model is an LG 60PM670T 60" TV I have changed the control board and the ZSUS Board and am waiting for Two Y Buffer boards to arrive and i thought it was time to see what thoughts are out there as to what the cause could be....Many thanks for any replies.

If you have zagged lines there are 10 small surface mounted capacitors you will need to change on the HYper Board. This is not an easy repair so alot of folks simply replace the hyper board. You will need a service manual to take this set apart and to get the proper part number. If you have no TV repair experience or do not know how to solder, as the hyper board has sheild arounfd it, you should play it safe and call out a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck

SOURCE: LG "NO PICTURE" , IF FIX WILL RECUR? ,DID LG FIX DESIGN FLAW 42PC3D

I had same problem - no picture, but sound worked - LG 42PC3d - was two months past warranty, but LG agreed to fix it as a warranty call. Service guy was out within a week to replace the Z SUS(?) board. Works fine now. This must be a typical problem, as LG did fix it, even though the warranty had expired. Good luck.

SOURCE: HDTV backlight turn off after 10-15 minutes, with some t-shooting

I have read everything I can find on the net about this problem for Polaroid TLX 04240b TVs (most, like mine, bought from Wal-Mart on Black Friday after Thanksgiving). I thought I was on a hot lead when I changed a 220uF 450v capacitor, but I still had the same problem. I saw a short post from somewhere else on this Fixya web site (sometimes I can find it again and sometimes I have trouble locating it) that said someone flipped a tiny switch on their circuit board and the problem was gone. I did the same thing and my set has been working fine. They had said their set was on for over 8 hours two days in a row when they posted. The other night my daughter left our set on over night for 20 hours and the picture still was working great. If you look through the top of the set when the picture is on you can see some white light at several locations, when the screen goes blank the white lights go out and a red LED light can be seen. If you take off the plastic cover on the back (3 screws) and then take off the metal cover (3 screws) this red LED light is on the upper circuit board in the lower left corner. Just a little to the right of the LED light is a small switch block that has 4 tiny white switches. I turned my set off and took the bottom switch (#4 and had the letters BURN by it) to the right "ON" position, turned the set back on and, so far so good. PLEASE NOTE!!! I know almost nothing about how transistor circuits work. I have no idea what the switches do or what long term effect this might have on the set. The set was only good as a paper weight before so even if this only fixes the set for a short time it was at least worth a try for me. Does anyone know what those switches are supposed to be for????

Vehicles equipped with the PASS-KEY or VATS anti-theft system usually require the system be reset whenever the battery is drained or replaced. Follow this procedure.
Step 1 - Attempt to start the vehicle. It will crank, but not run. The security light will be flashing on and off. Leave the key in the run/on position for exactly 10 minutes, then the security light will stay solid or go off.
Step 2 - Turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds. Attempt to start the vehicle. Some vehicles will run at this point, although many will require you repeat repeat Step 1 two more times. Make sure turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds before each 10 minute cycle.
Step 3 - The vehicle is now ready to relearn the proper code. Turn the key 'off' for 10 seconds and then 'crank' the vehicle. It should be running now. The security light might stay on solid for several minutes afterwards, depending on your system.

Theft system wont unlock

Most likely it needs to be reprogrammed. Here is that procedure:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale; it should be flashing. If it is not flashing, then you need a scan tool to repair this. If it is flashing...proceed.
4. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn ON for 5 seconds and then OFF.
5. Once to turns OFF, Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF, and wait 7-10 seconds.
Then: Repeat steps 1 through 5, 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes
6. After the 3rd time you turn off the ignition, wait 7-10 seconds and then start the engine.
Good luck

The tube harnesses may be a little loose and when tube warms they short. Try adjusting the wiring harnesses. (Only attempt to do so if you have electronics knowledge.)

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

Display for radio stuck in '7 SAFE' mode

This sounds like a Phillips Car Stereo:

To get the code in:
1. Turn the stereo off.
2. Turn off the ignition
3. Turn the ignition back on (dash warning lights on)
4. Hold and keep down the AS button on the stereo.
5. Turn the stereo on.
6. Release the AS button after 4 dashes appear on the display
7. Now enter code (if code = 7009. Press preset button 1 seven times, button
2 once
3 once
4 nine times
If you go past you can go round again by pressing the
preset button repeatedly
8. Once all 4 numbers are correct hold down AS again until you hear a beep (2 - 5 seconds)
9. The stereo after beeping will scan to program channels
You have 10 attempts to get the code in. However some models will not give you the number of attempts remaining!

Time delays work as follows:

Attempt 1. 10 seconds
Attemp 2. 30 seconds.
Attempt 3. 10 minutes.
Attempt 4. 20 minutes
Attempt 5. 40 minutes
Attempt 6. 80 minutes
Attempt 7 160 minutes
Attempt 8 320 minutes
Attempt 9. 640 minutes (yes that is 10 hours 40 minutes!!)

Vitally important thing to remember, the countdown timer works only when the radio is switched on. ANY interruption in the power will reset the timer!

So, be prepared for a VERY long wait to be able to enter the code!
Oh, and if it has reached 10 attempts, then it needs a dealer unlock.

TV Sony KV-29F1E turn-on failure, red standby LED flashes (starts after 10-20 attempts)

When the set ends up flashing the LED, it should be a repeatable count. Can you please report that count here? Also, since the set eventually works, I'd suspect a bad connection or a part that has changed value over time. The blink code will help to narrow down the offending circuit.
