SOURCE: canon ip4200 colour magenta

the colors transfer to the printhead by gravity. the felt on the inktank must make intimate contact with the stainless steel filter in the printhead. I have a pixma ip 6000D that I had to replace the printhead inside of two years three times. the bubblejet circuitry in the printhead got burned out. New heads cost from $55 to over a hundred.

SOURCE: magenta ink colour

I had the same problem. Try cleaning the print heads. They tend to clog. Remove the cartridges, then remove the print head. Tilted slightly, it comes out easily. Run very warm to hot water over the print heads until they all run clear. Use a turkey baster to apply strong pressure to each head until it runs clear. Blow off the excess water with mouth or blow dryer. Insert into the printer and proceed to print. If that doesn't solve it, you might have a bad cartridge, but there isn't much that can go wrong with the cartridge. I have an ip4200 and an MP830. They have the same print heads and same cartridges. I have cleaned each twice and they work like new.

SOURCE: MP700 Magenta horizontal stripes

I have the same problem. Here's the advice I found somewhere on the internet:

If a jet (nozzle) in your cartridge has gone bad you will see horizontal bands and/or white streaks in your print. Print characteristics may appear incomplete and/or the filled in areas on may not show up.
1) Run some warm water over the print head. This can wash away any ink which might have dried in the cartridge print head. Dry the cartridge with a lint-free cloth before placing back into the printer.

2) Clean the contacts on the cartridge (the copper colored circuitry) and the contacts where the cartridge clips into the printer with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert and remove the cartridge from the printer a few times to be sure you have a good connection between contacts on the cartridge and the printer.

3) If your print is smeared cleaning the wiper blade may fix the problem. Do this according to your printer manual instructions.

SOURCE: magenta not printing, just giving a faded colour insted

You must clean the mirror/optics in the laser scanner unit.
Because the magenta mirror is the lowest and facing up, there is most of the dust...
Laser scanner unit is a black plastic box, fixed with 3 screws.
You must remove rear cover , then almost all cables, right cower, circuitry on back together with metal plate to access it.
Almost 2 hours of work if you are a bit professional..
Hope it works

I have a used C60. I have replaced both ink cartridges with Epson cartridges. When printing in color, the colors are not accurate. For example, red comes out yellow. Also, there are lines running through...

Hi there. The reason for your problem is that the colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink, plus a black cartridge of course. All the other myriad colours are produced by mixing these four basic colours. So, if you print red, it requires ink from both the magenta and yellow cartridges. Thus if your red produces a yellow print, it means your magenta is not printing. This can be due to a number of reasons, mainly an empty or faulty magenta cartridge or blocked magenta print nozzles.

If you wish me to help you with sorting out the lack of magenta, please post a new comment to this effect.

Epson c88 how print in magenta

Do you mean "how do I print text in Magenta instead of black". Well, you change the colour of the text from black to magenta. For example in Word, you would select (highlight) all the text, click on Format, then Font. Then click on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, then click on Magenta. To check you have the right colour, click again on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, and select More Colors. Then click on Custom. Magenta has a Red-Green-Blue value of 255-0-255. Now print the document and it will come out with magenta text.

If this is not what you want, please come back with a new comment explaining further.

Prints all yellow, with some blue and black, no brown

the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.

HP D7360 prints in magenta instead of black. Both cartridges are

Check your other colours. Anything other than a True Type Font is printed in colour shaded with black, so it sounds like you have a problem with yellow and cyan. Either the ink cartridges are out or the print heads have a blockage.
If the cartridges are not empty or v low, try sitting the print head over a folded paper kitchen towel damped with hot water for 10 minutes. Remove it and try your diagnostic again.

Printing Yellow instead of Red

The colours in the 3 colour cartridges are cyan, magenta and yellow. If you want to print "red", this requires a mixture of magenta and yellow. Thus if only yellow is printed when you should be printing red, it means the magenta is not printing i.e. faulty/empty magenta cartridge or faulty/blocked magenta nozzles.

Please post a new comment if you wish for further help with this problem.

Won't print red

Red is a combination of Magenta and Yellow. Print a nozzle check and observe for Magenta, Yellow and cyan. If the three colours are printed, no problem with the cartridge. Then it must be the problem of seeing colours in your monitor. .
