You my friend have a blown backlight! These things are repairable, but costly. Companies will tell you that, they will talk you into another PC! My suggestions is search online for a vendor that sells backlights for LCDs. This will resolve the issue!

How do I know if my backlight on my LG tv is working

Wait until it is very dark. All lights out. Switch on. The screen should perceptibly change from black to dark grey. Perhaps you will see some light leakage near the edges where glass meets plinth.

And there is the T test where you touch the screen with the back of your hand after it's been on for a while. Although LED backlights are cold, they do generate some heat. So a perceptible change in temperature usually indicates that the backlight is functional.

Can the lamp be replaced for a Polaroid TLX03210B

You likely have a LCD set there which may likely use a back light inside to light the image, get the room as dark as you can and with a flashlight illuminate the screen from a angle, with set on if you can see the faint image on the screen of the program you have a Backlight issue'

1. Voltage not there or not being switched on for backlight.

2. Actual back light bad.

If the image can be seen with a flashlight one of the above is the issue and your "picture will appear very faintly" also suggests this.

Hp pavilionn dv6700 screen goes black after a while

If you shine a flashlight on your black screen and look real hard for the icons on the desktop. If you can faintly see them that means your LCD Inverter is bad. You'll have to disassemble the LCD Screen to get to it. In the mean time you can attach another monitor (LCD Flat Screen or the Old style fat CRT) with a VGA cable to the vga port on you laptop. Once you have it connected hit the FN (Function Key) + (F1 thru F12) key that that corresponds to the external display. Hold the FN Key while you hit the Function Key that is for the external display. The key might have the words LCD/CRT on it or it might show a display symbol. That's the key you want to hit while holding down the FN key. This will cause the desktop to display on the external monitor and verify that there is no problem with your Video Card inside the laptop.

My monitor screen is black. The green light is on but black screen

The green light usually indicates that the monitor is getting a signal.
The lack of a picture is an indication that the monitor itself is having a problem. I would test the signal with another monitor if you can get one.
I suspect that the monitor backlight has gone bad (if so, you can see the screen very faintly if you shine a light on it).
Or, the screen circuitry has gone bad.

My hp notebook have a black screen,i treid everything their is

I am assuming that the computer starts. If you have a black screen it could mean the display is bad or the video card is bad or the backlight is out.
Can you get a display using an external monitor? (Remember to switch output using the Fn and special function key combo.) If so, then suspect the LCD screen. If you can see the display but very faintly, then it's the flourescent backlight.

Screen goes black after a few seconds

Problems like these happen all the time with LCD monitors. Usually one of two things. Bad Capacitors or a bad backlight. To check this, take a flashlight and point at your monitor (usually at a high angle) and see if you can still see the desktop faintly. If so then its either the back light or capacitor. Backlights shouldnt need replaced too often as they have a extremely long lifespan. Capacitors are relatively cheap and easy to replace, all is required is a soldering iron and an inexpensive trip to a Radio Shack. Though this isnt your monitor, it is a very good tutorial on how to go about replacing the capacitors. If it is the backlight, here is another tutorial for that :D

Sony KDL-32ML130 lcd tv

Not really that tough. Sounds as though the backlight is shutting down, either from a power supply failure, or a failure of the backlight circuit itself. You can verify this by holding a flashlight to the screen in the area where the menu usually appears to see if it displayed on the LCD panel with no backlight. If you can faintly see the menu displayed, your backlight has shut down and the most likely cause is the backlight inverter board, followed by the power supply and the backlights themselves which are part of the LCD panel.
