Re: Maytag MER6770 F1-3 code Serial #12650733ws

F1-3 is the code for the upper oven being over 950 deg F.
If the oven is now cool, then most likely there is a problem with the temp sensor in the upper oven.
You will need to remove the rear panel from the stove and check the resistence of the sensor to know for sure if it is bad. The only other way is to hook a new sensor to the harness and see if doors will unlock then.

What do i do with a f9-2 error and oven door is lock?

Hello, Ms. Perez. My name is Melanie and I am a representative of Maytag. I am sorry to learn about the problems you are having with your range. Turn off the power to the range by pulling the circuit breaker for one minute, then turn it back on. Then try to turn the self clean on, then turn hit cancel before one minute. That should unlock the door, and remove the error code. If my suggestion is not helpful, and you still need assistance, please provide your name, you phone number, your address where the appliance is located, full model and serial number, and email this information to We would be happy to look into your concern further. Sincerely, Melanie.

My oven door will not shut, i have a code of F9 showing

it MAY be your oven door lock is jammed..
I found this information for you:
  • Wait at least one hour after the oven has completed a self clean cycle to attempt to open the oven door, as the oven remains locked until the interior temperature has cooled sufficiently.

  • 2

Press "Cancel" and wait a few minutes if the oven is cool and wait until at least one hour has elapsed since the completion of a self-clean cycle.

  • 3

Open the oven door and check the door lock switch. Move the switch back and forth with your fingers to return the switch to the original position. Check for dirt or debris that may be causing the switch to stick or lock and clean as necessary.

  • 4

Contact an authorized service technician if the problem is not resolved, as the door switch may need to be replaced.

  • Perhaps you can get some advice from Maytag

Purchased at Maytag Gemini MER6770 in 2000. It

Sounds like the cancel (or stop) button is making contact by itself. Clock (oven control board) may need replacement.
One option to buy it new, your part number is 12001661
    Coupon "New10" chops 10% off.
Another is to send the clock to be rebuilt. Google "stove timer rebuild", you'll find plenty of companies which can repair your original clock. In case you need it, the original part number is 74004542.
To get to the clock, remove the back of the control panel. Good luck.

    Maytag Oven Door is locked

    Suggestion from =>

The first step I would recommend you to do is to turn the circuitbreaker on, then set up the oven clock. Start the self clean for anyamount of time, wait about 30 seconds and push the cancel button. Mostof the time it helps to eliminate the problem.

I've read other places that turning the fan off will unlock the oven.

Bottom oven lock will not lock to clean my Gemini model MER6770

The lower oven may have a problem . It could be a few different things the door latch mechanism, oven door switch, the metal rod that pulls the latch over all are quite difficult to figure out. I would recommend calling an authorized servicer on this one. good luck

    MER6770 Fault Code

No. just the one sensor part number 12001656. After paying a maytag repairman twice, I will now for the third time replace it myself, google the part number and you will see the different companies that sell it. Price runs up to 40.00, next time buy a different product and hope that Maytag goes out of business!!!! I know I will!!!
