I am running Yahoo Messnger 8.1 and have not been able to login for two days now. I know my PW and ID are correct. But Messenger keeps telling me there was a problem logging in and to try again later. Is it me or Yahoo?

Please explain what is the issue exactly. Is it "You can't login with your ID and Password" or "The Messenger is not working". If you are unable to login with your ID and Password, try login with http://webmessenger.yahoo.com
If you are unable to login with it also just reset your password and login. If you can login with web panel, check if there is any prosy set inside messenger network preferences. Remove the proxy and try again. If no proxy found. Uninstall and restart the PC and re-install the latest yahoo messenger.

• Try to check Login ID (Correctly type Usr Nam & PW)
• Check CAPS lock on when typing
• Check your internet connection
• IF everything OK

1. Uninstall your Current Version
2. Restart pc
3. Install Latest Version
4. Login

My own advice is
1) Shutdown computer - power off the router for one minute - restart computer

2) Have more than one browser available for trouble shooting. Keep browsers up to date to incorporate all the patches - I run Firefox, Google Chrome and IE. Keep one browser clear of add-ons and plug-ins.
Always have the browser you are using designated as default - even if you only have one

3) Download and run CCleaner daily - to keep your browsers fully operational

If you have a problem with Yahoo Messenger, then you should take following solutions:

1. Please Check your internet connections, if you sure it's connected, make sure you allow Yahoo messenger in your firewall. (Usually under Control Panel menu)
