Question about Xerox 8830 Copier

1 Answer

Copy reprints 1st 3rd of copy on 2nd 3rd of page and so on.

Not sure to how to describe this problem. I have shaken toner drum and emptied dump at end. Insptected drum and cleaned mylar strip - or something that looks like it as I had not removed the deal next to the toner.
It prints the complete copy, but it also has this faded hard to read repeat in the background. Like the 1st part of the image is not erasing as it copies.
It is an XC830. I have not used it that hard - but it does have some age on it. I hope you can help.. It seems ok otherwise and I hate to junk it if that is not necessary.

The mylar strip is only to capture what the cleaning blade loses, you will have to clean the blade itself. Some blades will age without use, some will wear with use , and some will get paper fibres trapped under the blade know what happens when you get a bug under you windshield wiper?

Sharp 1641cs - Dark/black page after replacing drum & toner

Hi you have not said the toner type you replaced with though that will give not completely black copy. The problem may have been the drum unit installation. Make sure the charge unit over the drum service is present ie the one with a mesh wire like grid. If present, clean it or wipe with a soft clean and dry cloth. Clean the saw-tooth like metal plate inside that unit by slow blowing and make sure no toner particles are there. Finally screw the unit properly on the drum unit and your problem is solved.

Problem with Konica 7145.. When i make copies it duplicates some lines and reprints them lower on page (more faded) and also the first lines of the copy are blured in a point that they are not readabl

Manousos Xatzidakis:

I would take another look at the drum cleaning blade as well as the CEL and PTL. Any time I've had problems with double images, the drum carriage and parts associated to it have been the problem. I remember one notable case where I removed and shrouded the drum to protect it from light, cleaned both the charge corona and the discharge corona, cleaned the PCL and the PTL of toner dust, vacuumed the drum carriage of toner dust, cleaned the developer unit and replaced the developer. I finally got clear copies and the customer was satisfied.

I have a Canon Imagerunner 1310 and I am getting a message that my waste tomer is full and that I need to prepare a new drum. What does this mean? Can I do it on my own? Will I need to buy something?

Most of the time, if your copies are good, all you have to do is dump the waste toner from the drum. Slide the top to the left and raise the blue cover on the right. Lift the drum and developer unit out of the copier. At the top of the drum you will see a quarter size white plug that should be removed and gently turned over and gently shaken over a trash can to empty the drum. It doesn't have to be emptied completely. If your copies are bad then the drum has to be replaced. Not that hard for the lay person. Lift blue clips and the drum separates from the developer assembly. There was a Canon modification to use two small screws to keep the drum and developer together should the blue clips move out of position. These may have to be removed and put back. Raise the drum guard to make reassembly easier.

Xerox 416P faded copies

Remove the glass and thoroughly clean the lamp, mirrors and lens. Also the glass on both sides. If that does not work, remove the toner and drum, look inside the machine for a small opening about 8 inches long and a quarter inch wide. That is the laser window. It may also need cleaned. It is possible the laser needs to be removed and cleaned.
I am not sure, can you print reports on the p model? If so make a printed page and tell me if they look fine.
What you have to remember on a digital copier is when the optics get dirty , the image gets lighter.

A copy with a lighter image of the copy on the page

Do printed pages come out better than copies?
If they are the same, you may try another toner cartridge (especially if it is a remanufactured or compatible toner), otherwise, you need your optics cleaned (mirrors and lens under the contact glass)

Hi Phillip,
If you have changed the drum and toner, then check the fuser unit. The teflon coating on fuser film could be worn.

Vertical Stripes on printed Page, Shaken Toner, Relatively new Belt (Green thing), cleaned the fuzer wire, cleaned the cleaner roller, has oil.

Depending on the type and model of your printer this could be several things mostly related to the cartridge or drum if you have a separate toner/drum system.. Since you have stated you have shaken the toner, I am assuming you have a laser printer. New belt, has me confused. Green thing leads me to think you are talking about the drum. If so, did you purchase a new toner cartridge or new drum cartridge?

Several components inside the toner or drum cartridge will cause vertical streaks. It depends on where these streaks are occurring and how wide the streaks are. We call these repetitive defects and they can be measured to determine which part is at fault.

Also, if this is a multi-unit machine (print/copy/fax/scan) Check the platen glass or ADf feed unit for white out. That has been a major culprit of vertical streaks on the page.

More specifics about the model of machine and cartridges being used would be helpful in trying to solve this problem for you.
