Question about Sony KV-27S42 27" TV
This issue just started after years of no problem. Although I initially suspected the new cable remote control or cable box power BUT NOPE, the television only started turning itself off then coming back on for 10 to 30 seconds then goes off again, and on, and off until I had to unplug it.
I just moved into a new apartment got cable service with the box (sitting on top of tv) all hooked up correctly and worked great for a whole week. I'd turn it on to watch tv with cable then it just went off, then back on, again and again, spooky. I even hid the remote on the other side of the apartment thinking it was somehow controling the power. Nope.
So, I left it uplugged all day then tonight plug it in, no response. Plug in with cable, still no tv reponse. NOTHING. Dead.
So, is it time to replace this tv or what can I do? Is there a band-aid I can get for it? I'm mechanically and electrically inclined so I'd prefer to keep it and fix the problem if it's not too costly. I like to recycle. Please help. Thanks.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

6 blinks is a horizontal sweep problem (I think). If the problem did not show up at the shop, I'd suspect bad connections that the move "corrected" for the short term. If you can solder, resolder any joints that appear grainy or have rings. Pay particular attention to the area close to the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). Report back here with your results.

Turn it off u leave on to long ur CRT Tube will dies soner.Resolder the FBT,the flyback transformer, the big block of plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to the and the transistor beside it.This transformer is the HV to the CRT to get power.
