Printer won't feed the paper all the way through

printer won't feed the paper all the way through to be able to print a document--says the paper is jammed. We moved and htis is the first we are setting up the printer. I tried to print a document and it says the pape is jammed but it is not feeding the paper all the way through. Every time I try to print it makes me press the select button which isn't normal until after the paper jam.
