Hey, I called the local Sony Authorized dealer/repair. He said the little microprocessor inside the sensor goes bezark once in awhile......soo.......unplug the TV from the wall when you go to bed and then plug it back in the next morning. It worked for me. The little gizmo resets itself.

I had the same problem many times, and I don't have the original remote. Go into your menu options and select Auto-Program. It will run through all your channels, but when it is done, PIP will be off !! I have PIP!

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.
