My church has only used this projector maybe 20 times but is having some issues :( When you turn it on the buttons light up like they should but then the temp and lamp light blink about 20 times and then it shuts off. I was thinking that it is the fan because it doesnt come on when you start it and if it was the lamp wouldnt the lamp light just stay lit brightly and be constant??

I am having the same problem. Have you ever put this projector in emergency mode by turning the the grey screw on the bottom of the projector? I am looking heavily into this, maybe we can help each other out along the way. email@example.com (armyvet96 at hotmail dot com)
if the lamp is good, it could be a fan not working, which would be a bad fan or bad main board. IF the fans are working, then I would have to say that the power supply was bad or the fan laying flat against the bottom in the right rear corner is bad.
I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.
Lots of times with projectors is when you pack them away for a long time the bulb may become loose or maybe you have a wiring issue. its highly possible that your bulb may have just come loose. this occurs alot when you move it around alot. If it suffered any physical damage like maybe someone decided to use it as a stress relief punching bag then maybe the carbon fiber in the bulb may have snapped or a wire may have come loose inside the projecter. Hope i cleared up some of your confusion, unfortunately i dont have any real solutions for you. sorry. ~~RJ~~
We have a similar problem with our sharp projector at church where the
remote is on a long cable up to the projector as it is too far for the
infrared. Sometimes it quits listening to the remote and we've
found that unpluging the remote cable and plugging it back in restores
the operation. Apparently, the long cable introduces noise into
the remote input and gives it illegal codes sometimes.
Does yours only do this with that one button?
Hope Ya Fix it! Grace and Peace to you....
all these things leads to 1 conclusion:
the device is packed with tons of dust
it has a safty powerdown on heatup
