It is asking for a pin and I don't know it. can I make a new pin number?

however if you entered the pin number incorrectly 3 times,then the sim card will be locked and you will need a PUK code,i.e, Personal Unblocking Code

You can reset your password with the OS disc. Reboot using the disc and choose Reset Password from the menu bar.

Most of the time the pin is on a card delivered with the device. Or in the manual you can fine a generic pin to start. With a generic pin (often 0000) you are advised to change the pin during setup.
