Re: trouble finding the location of my hard drive

It should be located on the left side, and towards the front. It is removed by removing the security screw and sliding it out towards the left.

How to find hdd for toshiba satellite laptop 1715xcds

The physical hard drive is normally located on the bottom of the laptop. Normally when your turn the laptop over and let it sit on the lcd screen you will see an icon that has 3 circular discs that house the hard drive. Normally there are only 2 screws on the bottom case to remove the cover. Then you might have no screws or 2 - 4 screws that hold the hard drive in place. Remove them and just lift the hard drive out. Some drive will lift up, others you will have to slide backwards then lift up. There will be a piece of plastic on the drive for you to grab to lift it. If the drive is not on the bottom, then it will be located on the inside under the keyboard which means you will have to remove the keyboard to get to it.

Where is the hard drive located on the think pad t20?

It is a slot on one side, held by one screw.

Unplug laptop and remove battery.

After unscrewing, slide down and then pull out the plastic cover toward the side of the laptop. You will find attached the hard disk caddy.

You will need to remove the hard disk from the caddy by undoing four screws.

How to upgrade my twinhead notebook hard disk?

I've never had the pleasure of working on one of these. What I do when trying to find the hard drive in a machine I'm not familiar with is put my ear down to the machine, start it, and listen for the hard drive to kick in. This let's me know where it is, then I look the machine over to figure out how to get to it systematically. On most laptops, there is a cover on the bottom or the side that hides the hard drive. If on the side, it's generally a caddy that is held by a screw on the bottom, and the hard drive slides out with it. On some models they put the hard drive under the keyboard or palm rest/touch pad. So, listen to find out the location of the drive, then look for a cover on the side or bottom in that area. If there's not a cover, then remove the keyboard and check if you can see it. I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, unfortunately there's no manuals on line, but I hope this helps, and get you started in the right direction.

Hard drive

ok your hard drive isnt recognized, it may not be connected. Try locating the hard drive. Sometimes it is accessible from a bay on the side or bottem, other times it is located under the keyboard, check that it is securely plugged in.
