Problem for Toshiba 32A43 32" TV

Toshiba 32a43 32' picture garbled mess

Toshiba 32a43 32" (20040 television has a problem with the picture from all input sources(ie cabletv, dvd player, wii). I can hear sound perfectly, i can press the menu button and the menu screen pops up fine. The picture is only all messed up. The picture is not completely black but multi colored and all messed up when trying to watch a movie or dvd. I can see colors on the screen it is not completely black. No buzzing or funny noises just picture messed up. What could the problem be.

- I am not experienced with troubleshooting. You are right that I'm researching if its even worth getting repaired. We've already bought a new TV so now we have this monster and can't decide whether to take it to the junk yard or have it fixed for an extra tv set. I don't think $120 dollar range sounds bad to get it repaired the new 32" widescreen I bought to replace this was $500. Anyway thanks very much kbzon.

If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!

- If it is exactley the same problem as yours then it very well could be some that some caps are changing value, but consider that the tv in the example is a 40" and it has some extra circuits that your model doen't have. The closest info i have is for a 32a50 and it does not show a "hyper board" just a main board(which is the probable trouble area). are you experienced on trouble shooting methods or are you trying to get an idea on what the repair cost or if its worth repair? tv repair shop will probably charge you around 120 dlls for a cap repair if you can take it in but you might want to call around first.
