SOURCE: Singer Sewing machine

I found the same numbers on my Singer, but learned that the 13608M is not the serial number. I finally found it on the bottom of the machine. It typically begins with either a single or double letter. You can find the Serial No. and Year of Issue at http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html. You can also order a replacement manual. Another helpful site might be http://www.ismacs.net/Singer/singerdates.html.

Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a singer 3343c

the presser foot only holds the fabric against the feed dogs in the needle plate area

check the feed dogs to see if there in the up position

if not there should be a nob in the feed dog area to move them up & down

on some models when you remove the extension table the nob is at the back

I have a white rotary 75 and I'm looking to fmq on it is there a presser foot bar on a singer that I can change out in order to use a quilting foot?

If you know which presser foot shank your machine has, you can purchase a darning or FMQ foot that fit your machine without having to manipulate Singer parts.

Singer melodie 70 is tight when pressing my foot. When I turn my handle towards me it wont turn its tight

You need to take in for service. the repair shop has to remove the old lubricants, and replace them with oil & grease that doesn't gum up.

I have a Singer Sewing machine.Melodie 20. Have never got on with it. The ension seems to be the problem but have tried everything, checked the thread, etc.Any ideas? The fabric ends up with loose threa

I have a feeling that you don't realize that you absolutely MUST thread with the presser foot UP. That is because the top thread must go through two disks that apply tension to the thread, and the only time those disks are spread to accept the thread is when the foot is up. If you try to thread with the foot down, you can't get the thread in between those disks, or you only get it on the very outside of them, so there is little or no tension on the upper thread.

I didn't know that for YEARS, and once purchased another (used) machine, thinking mine was broken.

My singer HD 110 will sew a bit then suddenly the needle will slow down to a stop & the handwheel seems stuck, yet the motor is still running.

Hello there! Make sure your pattern selector is compatible with the presser foot. Good idea to test with a straight stitch setting: Tension: 4. Width:4-5. Length 5 after you insert a new needle and re-thread machine. Your previous needle may have become bent when machine malfunctioned. Use fabric compatible with needle size. Always raise presser foot when threading! Then always lower presser foot before sewing. Remember to use blue tip scarf needles with synthetic fabric silk thread 50. Purster thread 50, mercerized cotton thread 50-60; #11 or #9 for fine or lightweight fabric with silk thread 50 or fine Pollyester thread; #18 leather needle for leather, #14 - 16 denim . Jimmy Sweep out shuttle carefully with small brush for broken threads and lint.
