Canon Selphy CP510 "no paper" error

I used the printer for about a year; then, all of a sudden, I get a "no paper" error message on my Powershot A85. I use only Canon paper and cartridges. Paper is loaded properly. Question: There is what appears to be a little switch where the left side of the paper cartridge would hit it when inserted. There are two little pins; three little holes. Is this the problem? Is this a common problem with this printer? Is it worth repairing? Thanks, in advance, for any light you can shed on this problem.

Typically the paper pickup rollers need to be cleaned or replaced.
Pickup mechanism may be damaged as well.
If you attempt to clean use 100% isopropyl alcohol with caution.

Cassette has paper in it; fresh ink cartridge; can hear the engine running, but I get a paper feed error Canon Selphy CP510

This is sort of scenario is usually caused by dust inside the printer. Dust has a way of preventing the sensors from detecting paper. Also it prevents the rollers from having a firm grip on the paper while picking paper. I will suggest you get a long handle brush and try to reach as far inside the printer as possible and brush (from the back and front). If you have a blower you may also use it to blow well into the interior of the printer (If you do not have a blower the brushing will still do if you do it well.) This, if properly done should do it. Brush especially the rollers etc.

"paper-feed error"

Had the same problem with mine, very intermittent. Remove all the paper and open the feed tray lid so you can get access to the three grey pinch rollers. Start printing then push on the roller with your finger to try and 'rough it up' (if it clicks you are pressing too hard).

The fault appears to be that the pinch rollers are loosing their grip and can not pull the glossy paper through. I dare say using a mild washing up liquid solution would be better but this is a safe quick fix.

Did this to mine and it has worked fine ever since.

I have a Canon Selphy CP510 printer. I have honestly not used it in a few months. I just got back from vacation and wanted to print my photos. I send the pictures from my computer to the printer. It...

If the rollers are working, but its not pulling the paper in, I would suggest, as suggested in another thread, to 'rough up' the rollers in an attempt to give them better grip and maybe a bit more circumference.

Hi! I have same problem. I opened cover (4 deep screws at the bottom) and found small plastic gear was separated from stepping motor shaft. I fixed it on shaft and my printer started work again. Today I will try to fix same problem on another CP510. I think same reason. Try to do it. Simple.
