You can find the sleep mode settings under the view setting on the computer.

If there was something wrong with the monitor itself it wouldn't go to sleep it would just turn off. It sounds to be as if there is an issue with the signal going to the monitor itself, try restarting your PC and ensure that the connection on the back of the monitor and the connection on the back of your PC are secure.

Unfortunately, this is a standard problem, as when your laptop goes into sleep mode, it shuts off power to the secondary monitor, without giving it the signal to go into sleep mode. You could try digging around your settings, but most likely you'll just need to turn off the monitor when you're not using it.

I am sorry that the Monitor is going to sleep mode. Are you experiencing the same issue with different Tower or CPU? Turn OFF the monitor and power cycle it after a minute and check if the same issue persists. Also, reinstall the Video Driver.

Does it do the same when you use this monitor with other PC, new VGA cable, just need to narrow down the problem first before start taking the monitor apart.

unless the monitors are being turned on and off frequently the sleep mode idea is alot more efficient

Sounds like your monitor is not processing the resolution signal from the graphics card. Reboot the computer in "safe mode with networking", from there you can play around with the resolution, start low resolution and work your way up to test the monitor.

Turn off the "powersaver" feature on your monitor by pressing <menu> then <management>then <powersaver> select off.
