- I was locking my phone with a new pin and I wanted to use the Smartchip protection as well. All of a sudden, something called a PUK protection code popped up and I do not know what it is. It has locked me out of everything and I cannot make calls or send text messages or anything. I attempted to turn my phone off and turn it back on, but the PUK code box popped up as soon as I restarted it. I don't know the PUK code.- emilybreanneBest Solution

You'll have to get the PUK code from your service provider. Once you do, the new codes you set for the phone and the Smartchip will work to unlock the phone.
If you haven't changed the phone lock code, the code from the factory is usually found in your user's manual. Typing in the wrong code a certain number of times locks down the phone and the PUK code is needed to unlock it.
