Question about Sony MDR-7506 Professional Headphones
I need to rewire my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. Where can I get the wire other than Sony and how do you get into the headphone.
Okay, cut and strip the cord. There should be two copper wires and (on Sony headphones, at least) a red and a green strand. On a new 1/8" jack, there should be three connections. The middle one is left, and is where the green one goes. The short one on the side is right, and is where the red one goes. The long bit is the common, and is where the copper one goes. Before you solder, however, remember which strand is which, because you have to sand or burn off the colored enamel. (Use a fine grain paper, or use a standard lighter or stick match- anything else might damage or melt the wire)

I just have the side cable broken and need to basically attach them together again. but there are 2 cables (red and copper). Which one carries the audio signal. This cable is the one on the right side that connects directly to the speaker (the exposed cable between the head band and the speaker. HelP!

Download a schematic parts diagram of the MDR-7506 from Sony, and replace it with another lead.
