Question about Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My printer keeps flashing E3. At first the computer said paper jam (there was no paper jam) after reseting the computer and the printer the paperjam message went away but the printer still says E3. And we are unable to use the printer.
Ok, my machine was also showing E3, and would NOT go away. My solution: turn the machine off, feed a piece of thick cardstock into the paper feed.Turn the machine on, let the machine take the paper almost all the way in, then pull it back all the way out against the feed. My E3 disappeared and has not yet returned!! Hope this helps David

I was having this problem and was getting incredibly frustrated. I saw someone comment that it could be a small piece of paper that has been lodged into the rollers. So I got a flashlight and began digging. There ended up being one of my husbands military coins lodged into it..how it got there i have no idea. Just be sure to check for anything like that before taking it back to the store. best of luck

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Yesterday someone replied to my problem, i tried it this morning and its fixed 1st time.
Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving PUSH it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now

1st step, open printer cover and check to make sure no paper or foreign object is obstructing the paper feeder. 2nd step, Open printer maintenance, and execute roller cleaning. Solved My prob.
