Open the computer up, and locate the CMOS Jumper. Carefully hold the metal end of a screwdriver against it. This will reset any previous BIOS settings making you unable to see through your monitor.

Samsung Syncmaster913v Monitor. The screen is totally black, but when I remove lead from computer it shows "Check Signal Cable" in colour. Also when I press Menu, in top left hand corner...

If the color still works, and it works on other computers, there is something wrong with the computer in question. But this is not the case, so logically, something is wrong with the monitor. Check the cable for broken pins.

Monitor doesn't display any information. All hookups are in tact.

While it is still power on, unplug it from the video port of your computer. Can you see anything on the monitor? If so, the problem is with your computer. You need to troubleshoot. First try the monitor on another computer and verify that it's working fine. If it's not, then ask for repair and if it would cost some around $200, I don't recommend, you'll get a bigger and better new monitor for $200.

If you think there's nothing wrong with the printer and is tested ok, then start working with your computer, first try with another monitor and boot up, probably it shouldn't work, if it does, then the cable you were connecting the other monitor must be the faulty.

The best thing you can do with a dead video computer is to re-seat the Rams, Power connectors and Bios battery. First remove the Ram/s and boot again, you'll hear the beeping, means there's no ram installed. After cleaning the ram, again install it/ (if there are multiple rams, install only one), now boot again. same problem, try again with the other ram.
If you see no changes while working with the rams, then it must be the bios or the video card itself. If you have a spare graphics card, try it or if you don't have one, then the only solution is to replace the motherboard.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Gateway MTATXNIN ES2 problem. I have had this problem before and I got it to work 2 times so I know everything is fine with the motherboard, drivers, bios etc. The problem is: I forgot how, since I haven't...

I would be testing the memory modules. If theres more than 1, test by taking out 1 at a time. Also pins on memory can be cleaned gently with an Ink Erasor then just give it a brush. Good luck from Scott

Acer desktop with no monitor output.

Ensure the monitor is on. If so, can you see ANYTHING while the computer is booting up? Even the first BIOS screen?

Monitor keeps hibernating, can't make it stop, pixel issue.

Hey,

I think this is more of a problem on your computer instead of the monitor, ofcourse you could try another monitor and see if the same happens. I suspect your computer goes into standby or hibernation on its own, and it does work fine if you reset the computer right?

if you go into power management again, disable or turn off hibernation completely, its on one of the pages.
Make sure its not set to standby, and also disable your screen saver.

Right click on desktop - properties - then screensaver. turn it to none.

Also you could look into the computer bios and make sure its not set to standby or hibernation from there. thats unlikely but you could check.

how to get into bios.. depends on the computer, right when you turn it on, on one of the corners of the screen you will get a message, press button to enter setup or bios. press that to enter bios when its presented.

look around the bios and poweroptions.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

Every motherboard is equip with a jumper called clrtc (Clear RTC), look in your motherboard manual to find out how to use it to reset your BIOS. Or if you know the type of your motherboard, please share it.
