I am unable to scan or copy documents, as the scanner is locked
The scanner lock is generally a physical locking mechanism and it is not a control panel feature. The scanner is locked and kept in a safe position before it is shipped. It is done to avoid the damage caused to the scanner. The sliding latch might be located at the underside of the scanner when looking straight, that is above the area from which the paper comes out, towards the left-hand side. Locate the latch and then slide it from the locked position to the unlock position. If the error message does not disappear on the printer, press the Stop or Clear button. If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart.Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!

To scan and send the documents via. e-mail. First of all you must run the setup from the cannon cd (comes with printer), use full installation (recommended option) complete the installation.
If this is already done then :-
1] Put the document that you want to scan in the scanner,
2]Open "control panel" and open "scanners and cameras" folder. (switch to classic view if needed)
3]Switch on the printer (if it's on only then proceed to next step)
4]You will see your scanner icon (if necessary refresh the screen)
5]Open it and click "next"
6] (OPTIONAL) Select scan image type.
7]Click "next".
8]Choose a place to save your image.(default is my pictures)
9]Click "next"
10]and now image scan starts, at last click on finished.
11]Now open your e-mail account, choose "compose mail" fill in the details
12]now select "browse" (for gmail) or select upload file
13]select the address of the image where you saved it (default my pictures)
14]click ok.(you can only upload 1 file at a time)
15]send the mail. !!
16]Thus, you can send image by scanning like as stated above .

Sounds like the problem I had where the plastic gears that drive the roller on one of the the toner cartidges are broken.
Your gunna have to take it to a repair shop or send it back where ever you got it. If they won't take it might still be under Samsung's warranty.
