It sounds to me like the belt may have a bad flat spot in it? This may be why its knocking loudly. Lift the top by using a putty knife to release two clips holding top down insert knife between top and front panel. Once top is raised remove 2 Phillips screws on bottom of front panel. Remove front panel. Now you have axcess to inspect the drive system. It is normal for the spin tub to rotate in increments in agitaiton. If it actually spinning around in a smooth motion, this is not right. When you say it doesnt empty completely?? Is there water left in the tub?? If so inspect drain pump for any blockages. PLease message me back for further help.

It is confusing wether you have a front or top loader. I believe it to Be a Frigidaire front load washer that has no brakes and a seperate electic drain pump.

If the washer was overloaded it could have burned the belt which is most likely problem. or it could have damaged the transmission. if its less than a year old your still under warranty. you should call frigidaire. there should be a 1800# in your owners manual.

This sounds like a more serious problem than you will want to tackle since it is in warranty. You should have a full one year manufacturers warranty. I suggest you contact the manufacturer and get a call set up. Calling the store you bought it from is usually useless, unless they service what they sell.
It sounds like you have a transmission or brake problem from what you describe.

Washer makes grinding/loud sound and will not agitate-spins fine

Look under the washer. Is there a little pile of black rubber shavings? This sounds like the basket coupler between the motor and the drum. If the coupler is the problem it is inexpensive to fix. Some also call this part the "clutch". It kind of looks like a hockey puck with six holes in it... three for the motor, three for the clothes drum. In your case, I suspect that the holes are intact in the direction of spin, but as soon as it reverses for agitation, it breaks out through the back of the holes.

Washer is loud, and won't spin or agitate

check the motor bushes, and also check for bearings in drum you can check this by lifting the inner drum up and down if you feel a knocking noise then this will be the bearings have worn.
