1 Answer

Switching inputs I can't seem to find the way to make it so my my projector will automatically change the type of input when i change it on my receiver. I.e. dvd and component, digital tv and s-video, ect. I'd like to be able to do this without having to change each peice of equipment seperately. Thanks, any info would be great.

VGA-HDMI connection fail on Acer projector using adapter

You don't say whether or not the "adapter" is simply a gender-changer, or if it actually converts the digital signal from the HDMI port to an analog one for the VGA port. Some monitors have both analog and digital input capability and can automatically adapt to the the digital signal, even if applied to the VGA (analog) port. Other devices are not so smart and need an actual digital-to-analog converter style adapter.

Hi there, I'm trying to play a VSH/DVD through my

This happens when the computer signal is being used as the input, and the signal disappears or is the wrong type.
It may have tried switching inputs if you were using the video input rather than the pc input.

Press the auto image button to get it to select the correct input.

If you are using the PC as the dvd player, then change the display settings ie computer screen refresh rate, and resolution to suit the projector

Whe the projector is switched on and power light goes to solid green only a blank screen appears (basically only th lamp light) nothing else.

Be sure your input from the source is good. If a PC you may have to toggle the F8 or F5 to change the dispay to the projector. You can set the projector for AUTO Search to check all inputs at start up. If your doing WiFi or DVD/VHS player, be sure your using the outputs from those devices and that they match the projector input.

Went out of town yesterday, hooked my canon 5210 up just like I always do, and got no response from the macbook. Luckily there was another projector available, and it worked. Seems to be the projector, not...

My problem didn't get solved, but my frustration was that I got a technician online two or three times, but couldn't post a response! The program wouldn't accept any input from the computer! So I was muted!

How do i connect more compponents to my projector

The projector came with three video cables, and one audio. The first of the video cables is for component (three colors, which are blue, green, red) and is used for HD (hi definition) components. The second is an S-Video cable, which is used for just that, S-Video, which is one step below HD. The last type is composite, which is used for regular input. It has one input, which is yellow.

In order to utilize more than one component, you have to have a switching device. Since it is impractical (for me, anyway) to constantly unplug one video cable on the Cinego and plug in another of a different type, you must ensure that all of your components are of the same type. You may convert somewhat between components using cable adapters, but can only do so when the conversion is one level. The levels, from highest to lowest, are thus: HD, Component, S Video, Composite. You can go from one level to another which is one above or below, but cannot jump two levels.

As one example, if you want to utilize the HD capabilities of the Cinego, and you have HD cable or satellite and also a BlueRay disc player, such as a Playstation 3, you connect your HD cable/satellite and the PS3 each to a switching device, and connect the switching device output to the component input on the Cinego. The switching device, if you buy an automatic one, will detect whether the cable box or PS3 is on, and will transmit that signal to your Cinego. You may have to use an HDMI to Component conversion cable, or your switching device may have the ability to input HDMI but output the Component. The Cinego can only input the Component, as it doesn't have the HDMI input connector. The auto switiching device is about $25 and is available at big box retailers such as WalMart. So are the cables available there.

PLV-Z2 AV System Menu locked on 1080i

If I understand your description correctly, when comparing it with my Z2, this is a function of the input type. If you have the input set to DVI and ANY digital source connected, the projector selects the mode that it is receiving and does not allow you to modify it. The options on this menu are only available when using an analog input. Try switching to any of the analog inputs and see if the option doesn't re-appear. It seemed strange to me too at first, but it makes sense because the digital input does not require "fine tuning" to convert it from analog to digital because it is already digital and therefore the signal itself skips this conversion step and the menu that goes with it.
