yellow steady light is overheating. you have a stuck fan or its all clogged with dust. The only way to fix it is to find what is causing it to overheat or prevent the fan from spinning. It is not lamp related unless you bought a lamp that does not have an Osram bulb inside.
PS3 owners refer to this as the 'Yellow Light of Death' or 'YLOD'. It's quite common. The problem is caused by poor solder joints (due to overheating) on the motherboard and degrading heat sink compound on the fan.
Disconnect the power supply from the motherboard and all other accessories.
Replug the power supply.
Connect the green wire (PSON) of the power supply by way of a jumper wire to any black wire (ground).
The power supply should turn on with its fan. If not, it is defective and should be replaced.
Check the ATX12V connector of your motherboard. It is were you removed the 4-wire, 2 yellow and 2 black, connector of the power supply. Check the continuity of the yellow wires to the black ones. It should be open, otherwise it is shorted and your processor is defective and should be replaced.
Hello there:
If all of the fans come on, check to see if the fan is blowing on the power supply if it is not than you are going to have to replace the power supply. please keep me informed cause there is more that we can do if needed ok.
best regards mike
sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?
