SOURCE: gfci breaker for spa

gfci's are designed to trip if they receive voltage on there ground/neutral side, therefore my vote is for Smithbrother I would say there is probably a partial short somewhere in you system.

SOURCE: 50 amp GFCI breaker trips after spa runs for 45

More than likely, it's the element. They begin to 'leak' small current as they get old and this will trip the GFCI

SOURCE: SPA Filter on while Spa is Heating

you have one jandy valve ( the suction valve in front of the pump) that is not working right when you press spa mode. have someone watch the valves to see if they move when you press spa mode and heat inside the house. if the one in front of the pump does not move and the switch is in operating mode then that valve is bad and will have to be replaced.

My lazy spa has been fine for 18 months and is now tripping electrics every time I put on to heat and filter

if your hot tub is tripping the breaker, it could be due to a worn out ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) breaker, which is responsible for preventing electrical surges. You can try flipping the breaker to see if it trips again. If it does, then you may need to replace the breaker.

Another possible cause of the problem could be loose electrical connections in your hot tub . This can lead to power fluctuations that cause your hot tub circuit breaker to trip. Professional electricians can inspect your hot tub and tighten any connections that are loose, which should fix the circuit breaker problem.

If your spa is not receiving power, you should check your home's circuit breaker to ensure that it's not tripped . Reset the circuit breaker if it's tripped to restore power to the spa. If the circuit breaker keeps tripping, it may be an indication of an electrical problem, and you should call a professional electrician to diagnose and fix the issue

My hot tub works for about 20 mins and clicks the GFI off. Then I reset the GFI and the spa comes on for about 7 mns and trips the GFI again. Is this my heater doing this?

Easy way to test for the heater issue is to disconnect the heater from the board. Disconnect both leads from board and let the spa call for heat. There is also a chance the GFI breaker is bad however most times the heater fails and the breaker is doing its job.

I have a spa berry 2 person hot tub. Tried resetting it but as soon as I let go of the reset button it trips the breaker. Can't get it to stay on. Tub is 4 yrs old. Where do we start?

Melisa, Breaker/GFI may be going bad. You may have to get an electrician to check for short or faulty motor/heater, etc. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

When i plug in motor humbs and then kicks bracker

More than likely you have it plugged into a standard wall socket and the breaker that the spa is on has other things like lamps or blenders on the same breaker. If you have a hot tub plugged into a standard outlet you need to be sure it's the ONLY thing on that breaker or else it will trip. Your outlet is 110 and that spa need 120 so it's pushing it to begin with.

Why is the gfci tripping on my hot tub after being on for 30 min. After resetting the breaker after the 30 min. run, it trips immediately!!!

Hi,
You will want to make sure that all of your spa equipment is functioning properly. It is best for a spa technician or electrician to determine this issue.
It is likely that a particular piece of equipment is turning on around the 30 min time frame and causing the breaker to trip. Pump, ozonator or similar. Also check the heater element, a pin sized hole in the element will cause it to fail. Lastly your spas breaker itself could be bad.
Good luck!

My hot tub keeps tripping the breaker and will only stay on for a short period of time before tripping the breaker. What can I do?

Check for a water leak in the electrical areas of your spa... specifically look closely around the heater terminals, look for wet and corroded connections... If this spa is wired to a plug-in outlet, look at the GFCI plug assembly as well... You can also try disconnecting the blower, pump, heater, etc, from the control pack (one at a time) to determine which item is causing the tripping.
