Question about Advance Computers & Internet

Open Question

Magnavox MDR557H/F7, 1TB HDD when plugged in says Loading, but doesn't load so L1 displays to enable 6 hr live stream feature.

How can I advance to L1, or Factory Reset--even if it erases hard drive recordings so it will work?

Hi. Sometimes, there are compatibility issues on external drives. Most recent computers will read them while others may not. Either the external casing or the cable is causing this.

SOURCE: L.S. How to reset Panasonic

You can either go into menu (pressing 'FUNCTIONS' button on remote) and look for 'RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS' or similar heading, or you can (while unit is on) on the front of the unit (not the remote) press CH UP and CH DOWN buttons together for 5 seconds - the unit will switch to standby. Give either one a try. (refer to page 60 onwards in your user manual - these pages detail 'settings').

If you cannot find your manual, it is available for download (free) -

I hope this helps in some small way. Thanks for asking FixYa!

SOURCE: my garmin nuvi 255w keeps

There is a hard reset button under the sticker at the bottom of the unit. It is located directly under the check mark on the sticker. Once you get it going fully charge the unit then go to the Garmin website and register and update your 255w. I will attach the link to the Garmin Site. Thanks for using FixYa

I tried to install windows10 on dell 560computer now stuck saying restart installtion wont work, froze up

lal ball, there is no answer here only questions,
first off the OP never told w10 32 bit or 64bit load
and is radically different answer for both. can do , I can.
9 months late to the party too.
OP did not say s , fresh clean load, update
nor his media used, or who made it and how.
nor if booting from USB stick or DVD disk made from ISO.
nor if running setup.exe of the media, in w7 (32 or 64)
what is your OS now? exactly
did you remove the media at end of phase one, you must.
it tells you to do that.
did you fully test the HDD first, before loading any new OS.
this is first first thing, never skip that step for sure on 10year old HDD, better is upgrade now to SSD, for sure.
2 modes w10 runs now, 3 different ways and answers.
it is now very near 10 years old
last bios update year 2012,. so is not w10 ready
bios released 5 months before w8 release date. so......?
one might ask for support on w10 32 or 64bit
64bit is very non happening if wrong processor or wrong BIOS.
this PC came with Vista or W7
and the web site clearly shows, no w8 or w10 support at all

proof is here.

took me 1minute to get there, and read, so can you.
this PC does not have UEFI BIOS so no safe boot to turn off first.

just because w7-64 bit runs does not mean w10 will
they raised the bar for updates and for clean loads of w10-64 even raised the bar higher. (for security reasons they did that)
and world wide demand to do so. a fact.

off your service manual page , turn most these on.)
the correct CPU is first, (64bit)
most these PC have
Intel Pentium E6700 / 3.2 GHz
gen 6 is very good to have or higher.

Advanced BIOS Features
CPU Feature
Threading Technology
Enabled; Disabled (Enabled by default)
Intel SpeedStep
Enabled; Disabled (Enabled by default)
Enabled; Disabled (Disabled by default)
Limit CPUID Value (leave off)
Enabled; Disabled (Disabled by default)
CPU XD Support
Enabled; Disabled (Enabled by default)
Multi Core Support
Enabled; Disabled (Enabled by default
above is 64bit needs,
windows can fail for many reasons, fresh loaded even to a new SSD.
CMOS RTC coin cell battery died 3 year ago and not replaced
then make the install USB per free download page.
Then boot the media,
and (if old hdd ,erase it first)
the install, and at end of phase one it tells you remove boot media now.

The PC will to run window 10 if
the processor is too old (64bit) gen 6 should work, but turn on the above listed BIOS features first.
the W10 will fail if it does not like
your BIOS.
your video card or chip or lack of min, RAM.
it also scans all other chips, if all network chips are dead, it will fail.
many older chips even 10 years old have no drivers now.
the maker of the chip did not make a driver and hand it to
and can not just make them appear like magic.
w10 is free to try.
try 32bit if 64 bit fails both are free to try, for sure.
for 30 full days.

Magnavox MDR537H/F7 no power

Some surge protectors cut off all power, when they reach the surge protection limit in joules. Power strips have reset buttons to restore power. Try plugging it directly into the electrical wall socket. If it works, then purchase a new surge protector. The DVD recorder may have a internal fuse that has burned open.

Was on with HP tech for 1 hr loading the drivers for dell 946 AIO. when i tried to print it kept saying i have to enable bidirectinal support. it keeps getting un enabled by it self and i can not seem to...

I've seen this happen with bad cables. I'd try a brand new, known good USB v2.0 rated cable. Also, don't use one that is longer than you need - I'd stick with a 6 foot cable at the longest for now, at least for testing.

DVRs, not sure at the moment about the one you have, are limited with the brands and size hard drives it is able to accommodate. I'll advise you to check the manual you have with the DVR to see the brands and sizes that it can accommodate.
