Is it the sound of something you have connected?
Or is the sound of another source?
In which case this could be caused by the socket itself picking up signals from say a wireless device.
Or poor shielding on cables.
No, not from another source, just the TV as if it were on HDMI or Analog or Optical. I have 3 audio connections from my cable box to my receiver. HDMI, Optical and RCA. The optical I don't need but because my cable box optical socket flap is broken-I get a red shade against the wall at night so I just inserted the optical cable to shield that but I never use that input because I have HDMI, don't need it. I don't understand why when I toggle my audio inputs and C1 shows up, I still get sound. I shouldn't.

SOURCE: connect to coaxial cable in wall
You have BNC connections on your TV you need a BNC to Coax adapter sold at any AV store and sometimes radioshack.
SOURCE: speaker wire to coaxial cable
Yes ! all you have to do is go to radio shack and tell them you want a coaxil to RCA adapter (screw coaxial into wallplate and plug RCA end into sub and your all set!)

SOURCE: Muffled sound from rear speakers why watching TV
switch the HDMI cables around to make sure its not one of them, if the problem is one of them it will move with the cable,if no change i would suspect the coaxial cable next.
SOURCE: Onkyo tx sr705 & bose 901
No. Active Equalization is required for the 901's and not to be used with any non-901 speakers.
