SOURCE: My Jennair Side by side has ice in freezer bottom and leaks water

This sounds like the defrost drain line is clogged and frozen. Every 8-12 hours the defrost cycle melts the ice buildup on the coils and is supposed to drain out to the pan under the fridge. Once this is blocked or freezes up the next cycles continue to put liquid water over the existing ice which then freezes, etc. till finall the area is frozen enough for water to find it's way out the door seals. You will need to take the back interior panel off the freezer side to view the coils and drain line. It will take lots of hot water to melt the ice in the drain area and the drain line in order to run a cleaning tube (basically a piece of 1/4" tubing like the water line tubing a couple feet long that you can force down the drain to make sure it's not plugged). Once you push the cleaning tube down the drain and can see it come out the other end in the drip tray pull it back out and pour hot water down it once more to watch that it drains fast. That should do it!

SOURCE: Ice and water on bottom of freezer

sjlobo, sounds like your defrost drain pan is frozen over or has some gunk in it. When the unit goes into defrost the water is running onto the freezer floor and out the front. Remove the lower bin and check the drain hole. You may have to remove the freezer back panel. If you can, just use some very hot water and some sort of baster to unfreeze the drain. Check this first, Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Excessive Frost and Ice Build up in Freezer

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

SOURCE: maytag side by side freezer leaking water and icing in bottom

Defrost drain system is plugged and not draining out the back and into the drain collector. There is normally an air trap in this drain line under the back and behind a fiber removable panel. Check this trap and make sure it is clear of any blockage. You will then have to defrost the freezer and clear out the ice. Don't forget to replace the back fiber panel.

SOURCE: water leaking and ice in bottom shelf of freezer

Chances are you have a bad seal around the door if it's leaking from the inside which causes the ice to form as well, or if it's leaking from under the freezer you lave a bad heating element that evaporates the water collected in the pan under the freezer or you have a clogged hose that goes to the pan under the freezer which also causes the ice to form because the water has no place to go. Defrost and try to find a way to blow out the hose that goes from your freezer to the pan under the freezer and that should take care of your problem.

Ice forming at bottom of freezer

I had a problem with Ice forming in the bottom of my freezer on my whirlpool side by side freezer-refrigerator. Turn out to be a plugged drain in the bottom of the freezer. That drain goes into a tray under the whole unit. During Defrost, condensate drops from the contents of the freezer on to the bottom of the freezer and goes through a drain tube to a pan underneath. Should that drain tube become plug and the water is left standing in the bottom of the freezer, it will turn back to ice after the defrost cycle is over. Once the drain tube is clean out, the problem goes away.

A sheet of ice has formed on the bottom of the freezer. Why.

There is a drain port in the behind the freezer panel where all of the water drains when your evaporator coils defrost. It has gotten clogged with food, or ice. Thaw all of the ice and unplug the drain hole, and ice will stop forming on the bottom of your freezer.

There is layer of ice that has formed at the bottom of the freezer side. Due to this there is a leak of water that appears every two or three days. I cleaned the layer of ice once and after 2 or 3 weeks...

Sounds like the drainage hole is blocked with ice, i normally take the back cover off the freezer and at the bottom you will see a build up of ice at the bottom, turn freezer off and carefully remove as much ice as you can, then pour some boiling water over the excess ice and in the middle you will see a drain hole make sure water then freely flows down drain hole. Other than that you could try switching your freezer off for 24 hours to clear ice.

Top freezer develops ice on left bottom side.

it has to be connected other wise its true that ice will get collected.because the compressor will give its coldness in refrigerator so the cold air of freezer will also get collected in refrigerator side, because there is no ice dispenser connected.connect the icedispenser.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.
