See that there is enought pressure from your inlet pipe into the machine, maybe someone closed the wall valve. Plug off the wall socket. Check the filters on both sides of this pipe, clean out. Also clean the inlet into machine.

You said the washer will not fill, but is it coming in, the water that is. If this is the case, your outlet pipe from the bottom of the machine is at the wrong height, it should be at about 3 feet above the ground level; your pump pumps this waste water OVER this height. Check these out.

This issue calls siphoning effect. It happens when the drain hose was somehow lower or not stand vertically. It causes no air pressure column in the drain hose to keep the water out. Check the drain hose and make sure it is high enough. Try to hold the drain hose straight up and see if it is happened before having further inspection.

Our washer fills and drains at the same time.

Hi, Based on the limited info I'd suspect the drain hose is lying down on the floor or is pushed down into the stand-pipe too far. If the drain hose is below the water level entering the washer it will siphon out immediately. The drain hose must be above the highest point the washer has to fill, and if it is in a stand pipe insure it isn't pushed in too far, just a few inches and then secure it without completely covering over the opening or that too will cause it to siphon. Do you hear any motor operating while this is happening ? If you answered NO, this further support's the idea of the washer siphoning out the water it is supposed to fill with. Check your drain hose. Let me know if this was indeed the case and if so please rate the solution accordingly. Thank's for coming to "fixya" and good luck. Macmarkus :)

Will not hold water ,when filling it just drains out

I just had this problem also. The reason I was having this problem was that I was letting the draining hose run into my bath tub to drain. Because of this the water was immediately draining out of the washer. So I had to hook the draining hose onto my bathroom sink to drain. By raising the hose higher, the washer filled up with water and worked just fine. Hope this helps.

I have a Kenmore N2. What would make my front load washer fill back up with some water after the drain and spin cycle is complete?? IF I let the washer go until it's done and go downstairs to take out,...

first, run a rinse, drain & spin cycle. after it finishes filling, shut the water supply (taps) off. If water enters the washer after the drain, it has to be sifoning back in from the DRAIN hose. Check to see if the drain hose is not going up above the washer more than a few inches

Washer drains water immediately

Hi, Does the water drain while the washer is filling? If so, check the end of the drain hose and make sure it is as high as the top of the washer.
If this is not your problem, Please let me know to clarify what is happening.

Washer won't fill up

The problem is most likely your drain. If there is no air break at the drain,( a gap where the hose goes into the pipe so air can enter) Your water will siphon out of the machine. Also make sure your drain pipe is higher than the tub of your washer and you only want about 6 inches of the drain hose sticking into the pipe. If you have water coming back out of the pipe when the machine drains, you will need a plumber to clean the pipes or replumb the drain. New washers pump out faster than older ones did and they need a good drain to handle the flow.
