I have replaced the roller brush on dyson animal 25 multiple times. It works for a short time and then the end (inside roller brush) appears to be stripped.

SOURCE: My Dyson Animal 14 beater brush will not turn.

It MAY be a clutch issue. I had a similar problem with my DC07 Animal recently a posted a solution elsewhere on this site, but here's the summary. To reset the clutch on my model, recline the vacuum, turn it on it's side and slowly change the carpet/bare floor knob from one setting to the other about 6 times. This apparently reset the clutch and now it works fine. You may also wish to call DYSON. They're very helpful and walk you through troubleshooting before recommending servicing. Their number is 1-866-693-9766. They'll need your model and serial number (located on bottom of uinit).

SOURCE: Dyson DC 25 Dyson Ball animal. The bottom brush

Two things you can do. 1- Remove the brush as if you were going to change the drive belt for it. Clean the brush as best you can and spray some WD40 on the hard rubber/plastic pieces at both ends of the brush. Rotate the pieces to work the WD40 into the space between the pieces and the brush axle. 2- If you have one available, as long as the brush is off, change the belt.
This should get your unit back in operation. If you find this solution helpful, I would appreciate a Thumbs Up from you. Thank you. Paul

Dyson animal ball, brush stops rotating often. Restart vacuum, brush head runs very short time, shuts off on flat tile floor.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

How do you get the end caps off the brush roller of the DC14.?

The end caps are pushed onto the shaft that goes through the center of the brush roller. Hold one end cap in each hand, twist back and forth while pulling the end caps off of the shaft. If you can't get them to come off you may need to replace the brush roller. This is a good time to replace the clutch or belts which is much easier with the belt change tool.

Where do I find instructions to replace the roller brush on my DC07 Animal

Hi there,
VacuumGuru here. I have made a video on how to check your clutch and brush roller.
Please take the time to rate the solution or give me a thumbs up.
If you need to buy filters or belts for your Dyson DC07 I would go to Vacuumspot.com.au or NelsonVacuums.com.au
Hope this helps :)

Dyson absolute 17 animal smells like its burning when turned on also has terrible noise...nothing wrong with belt already checked it..so what's going on

I had the same problem with my DC15. With the brushes going it smelled like burning hair (bad). I had cleaned the brushes many times and it didn't seem to help. I even took it into a Dyson authorized repair shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. As a last resort I called Dyson 866-693-9766 1-866-My-Dyson. I was on hold for about 15 minutes before getting a live person. He had my problem diagnosed in literally 1 minute. I had hair wrapped around the spindle, inside the brush/roller mechanism. He walked me through taking apart the brush mechanism (super simple only using a quarter). There was a TON of hair crammed around the spindles and inside the brushes. All wrapped very tightly. I hung up with him to do the cleaning. It took some time and I had to use tweezers to get inside the rollers/brushes. But I got it all, put it back together (which was really easy) and tested it out. No burning hair smell at all. FIXED!

Reset Button on my Dyson DC 25 Animal

What do you want to reset? Do you mean the motor has stopped working? There is no "reset button". The motor has an automatic cut-out, which will operate if the motor gets too hot and will reset itself when it cools. If the motor will not work when it's cool, then you have an electrical problem which will probably need professional attention.

My purple and red Dyson has become hard to push. Could a belt have broken?

It's simple to tell if a belt has broken. Just switch the machine on and have a look (look, don't feel) to see if the brush roller is rotating. If it is, then the belt is not broken.
Depending on how much use your machine has had, it's quite likely that the brushes on the brush roller are worn to the point where you need a new brush roller.  Most vacuum cleaners rely on rotation of the brush roller to pull them along, so if the bristles are too short this doesn't happen.
I hope this helps. Please remember to rate this response.

Dyson Brush proplem

Hi Dave.

Ok you need to lift belt end of roller up, so that you get the roller straight then lower roller down so that both ends go in at same time down.

Use a large flat screwdriver to help lever roller up from belt end & watch your fingers (Ouch).
