Hello, Sandie -

You will find several images of how to thread your Pfaff Synchrotronic 1229 sewing machine in the instruction book for the machine, starting on Pages 6 - 9 (PDF images #10 - 13) of the manual (PDF format) here:
http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Synchrotronic_1229-manual-EN.PDF
Since it is a PDF document, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software (free), to download and save the document on your computer, and open and refer to it later.

Note: When you save the PDF document to your computer, be sure to give the file a name you can find again easily . . . something like: Pfaff Synchrotronic 1229 Manual.

Best wishes.

Have a certified repairman look at the power board in the machine. The power supply circuits are broken on the board itself. Can be repaired with wire and solder. How do I know? Just fixed my wifes 1229 that had the same problem.

P.S. New boards are NOT available from PFAFF or anyone else

Pfaff 1229 cannot seem to get tension right i thought changed thread and ive spent the last hour trying to get it to stop looping underneath, ive re threaeded adjusted uppper tension but not working?

Lots of reasons for this. Tension, needle size, material and thread have to meet conditions for the material sewn. Make sure the thread is not old as thread deteriorates and can cause minute knots. Make sure you are threading the needle correctly. (I've been sewing for many years and sometimes DO NOT thread the needle correctly, it's easily done). Make sure the thread in the bobbin and top thread are the same. Make sure the needle is not bent or dull. Make sure that under the feedplate has no lint or bits of thread.
I hope this helps. :-)

How to thread the serger4872?

Do you mean the Pfaff Coverlock 4872 serger? If so, the manual shows the threading pattern starting with threading the thread guides on page 14 (page 18 of the PDF). Pfaff has the manual on the product support page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support/3323 . The current link to the manual is: http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/coverlock_4872-manual-EN.pdf . Many Pfaff sewing machine manuals are available from the Machine support page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . To find this machine, look for the list of Coverlock machines in the alphabetical list then find the specific model.

ManualsLib also has the manual: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/504967/Pfaff-Coverlock-4872.html . If you Google Pfaff coverlock 4872 threading guide video, you can find several videos that may be clearer than the pictures in the manual. Pfaff has the video of threading their overlock machines here: http://www.pfaff.com/mediafiles/threading_guide/index_en.html . (Flash player is required.)

I hope this helps.

How do I thread hobby grand quilter 1200

The Hobby 1200 is a Pfaff sewing machine that they call the Grand Quilter. First raise the presser foot and make sure that the needle is at the highest position (press the needle up/down button twice with the machine on). Then turn off the machine and unplug it for the maximum safety. For the top thread, place a spool on the spool pin and guide the thread through one of the two thread guides on the thread guide bar. The thread starts from behind the guide. (The post holding the guide bar is next to the spool pin.) As with most sewing machines, you will work from right to left and lead the thread down then up before going down to the needle. Bring the thread to the next thread guide (in front of the bobbin winding pin) and pass it through one of the holes from the back. Wrap the thread to the back of the guide and then through another of the holes. If the thread tension is very loose, try going through all three holes. Bring the thread down between the pre-tension discs going counter-clockwise.

Hold the thread in both hands and guide it around down and around the tension dial from right to left. Bring the thread up to get it between the tension discs and behind the tail of the check spring. Bring the thread back down over the loop of the check spring then under the thread guide that looks like an upside down L with a curve in it. Bring the thread up and through the next thread guide. (This guide is horizontal and just above the previous guide and one side ends near the center of the tension dial.)

Bring the thread up and pass it through the eye in the thread take-up lever and then back down through the horizontal thread guide above. Slip the thread into the thread guide and then down to the needle bar thread guide. Thread the needle from front to back. The thread should be along the groove in the needle.

You can find the manual at Pfaff's Machine Update page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . Search for the model and then you'll get to the product page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support/3336 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/GrandQuilter-manual-EN.pdf . The threading section starts on page 21 (page 23 of the PDF). The manual has good pictures that are better than my attempts to describe the guides.

I hope this helps.

My Pfaff synchrotronic 1229 will not pick up the bobbin thread. It was sewing fine, I stopped to put in new bobbin and now it wont pick the thread up! Grrrrr...

Um, quite possibly something to do with the bobbin you installed. Check that it was loaded correctly. You might also try a different bobbin and different thread--could be something defective with that particular bobbin. Try a brand new needle, just in case. If still issues, then may consider taking it for service.

Where do you oil the PFAFF Synchrotronic 1229?

1229 or majority of PFAFF's needs to be oiled in the bobbin cage and nowhere else.If you start oling the gears lint will build up and slow your machine down. So only apply a few drops where where the bobbin is attached to.
