My Fujifilm instax mini 8 stopped working and when I turn it on, none of the brightness setting lights come on and when I try to take a picture, nothing happens.

The most common problem for those symptoms are convergence amps. That unit takes two stk392-040 Sanyo Ics and will most likely require that several low ohm resistors (3.9 ohm-2w) be tested and possibly replaced.. There is one last thing also, a pico fuse at Fd102 (3.5a) that sometimes opens and would need to be replaced..
The convergence board in these is easily removed, so an in-house service call could be done...

and i still have no idea what to do with it
i tried changing the batteries and everything
but it just wont turn on
there are no lights where you change change you settings
and i can't take any pictures with it
