Fisher and Paykel GW708F Screaming like a jet engine on spin!

Fisher and Paykel Frigidaire Excellence Model GW708F. Screams like a jet engine powering up when in spin cycle. Is it a bearing or a pump or what? No other problems. Noise only comes on spin, when it's pumping out the water sounds normal.

- Yup it did help, as in it's no longer noisey! I replaced the bearings for $40 myself but I think I've made a mistake somewhere. Put it all back together. I put nothing in and it filled and emptied fine. So I put clothes in and ran a hot wash and it fills, stops, fills, stops... like it's jogging. I jiggled the bowl and gave it a bump and it washed, but when it got to the rinse cycle got the same jogging. Lights come up 10000011 (0 off 1 on) on the display when it beeps. Any advice other than I should go to appliance repair school?Best Solution

Hi there
Yea if the machine sounds like a train going through the middle of your house when its on spin it will most definately by your seals and bearings, an easy way to check is lean the machine back onto something and look underneath if the main seal is leaking and the bearings are run there will be rusty looking residue on the motor rotor(the round thing in the middle of the drum), seals and bearings are fairly expensive to replace About $350NZD if no shaft is needed and up to $500NZD if a replacement shaft is needed.

- Did you replace the seal as well? for the fault code thats repititive rotor position sensor error, thats the wee green board that slides into the side of the motor these commonly fail when the seal has been letting water through, check wiring and plug and if that doesnt sort it replace it, also failing that it could be your motor controller.Yes
