Toshiba 50HDX82 screen flickers at the top

Hi. My 50HDX82 is 5 years old. Just recently, I have had issues with the top part, maybe 6 inches that flickers or has verticla lines. This slightly goes away after awhile. I have Comcast cable and we tried a number of things today. They put new lines in and out. Switched out my amplifier. Tried a new DVR. My issues are primarily with the Fox Soccer Channel. Somewhat with other channels but not too noticeable. HD channels have no issue. I also experience bad issues after powering up the TV late at night. It gets real squiggly lines all across but does fade after 30 minutes and then I have some squiggly lines that remain at the very top 6 inches.

From what I have read here, is this a Hper-moduel issue? How much does that cost?

Could there be another problem?

I am having the same problems with the Toshiba 50HDx82 screen with the screen flickering at the top with squiggly, wavy lines, and now it is across the whole screen. You cannot watch the tv without feeling like you need to wear glasses--but even that wouldn't help!!

Very similar problem.[ the squiggly picture] Switched out the Direct Tv reciever and made no difference. Seems it's even worse if I take my recver off 1080i.If the set is shut off for any amount of time, it seems like it has to go through a warm up period, then we can finally watch the darn thing !! Otherwise, we love the set, it's 5 years old now. Any suggestions out there ??

I have the same problem on the DVI input. If I try to watch a DVD on the color stream input I have to wait the whole 30 min for it to warm up before I can view that input (similar to taking it out of 1080i I think) Are there any solutions to this?

Toshiba 57H82 entire screen flickers. Not clear. mult images

Take the television back to where you bought it and maybe they might repair it or swap it. It sounds like a defect in the TV.

BUT! Are you sure that its not just the aerial signal??

Toshiba 50HDX82 Screen Protector

First remove the speaker grill. Then removed the control package via two screws. This should expose the screws that hold the front mask on. You can then slide the mask up and inch or so then pull it forward. Hope this helps.
