I have cleaned out filter (first thing I do when starting a new load). No change. The Dryer stills shows the check filter and hums (the drum will not move)after it hums it then stops. I think that the belt might be broken, but I don't know how to check inside the frame of the dryer. Any help would be appreciated.
Remove top by removing two screws on back of unit near top on plastic parts-bottom screws. Pull top back about 1" and then lift up. Belt should be around drum. Pull on belt , if broken will come out. If missing, then broken and has fallen into bottom of dryer.

I had exactly the same problem with my newish LG dryer. I deduced that the dryer's computer essentially needed to be rebooted. I pulled the plug for a minute or so, then plugged it back in. It works perfectly now.

You might need to check the exhaust on the rear of the Dryer, or the blower motor iether one has lint inside, restricting the air flow

For Sgt 48 - You are not reading the original message very well - The original help question didn't say they saw check filter at the beginning or end of a dry cycle they indicated that the dryer STOPS MID DRY and says check filter - this is not a friendly reminder, it is indicating something is wrong and the filter needs to be completely cleaned out (and past the filter down in the interior of the dryer) and if that does not work then you need to also check the dryer hose for kinks, lint build up, etc. Lastly, reset the dryer by unplugging it (or flipping the breaker) for a minute or so and hold down on the start/pause button for 8 seconds while it is unplugged (this will reset the error code for check filter, among other things).

Hi As you have already cleaned the
lint then unplug the unit for around 15 minutes and plug it back, then reset
the unit by pressing the start/pause button & hold it for 15seconds. After
doing all this if the issue is not solved then, the Thermal fuse which is located
inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct, should be replaced. Hope this

Ours does the same thing. We bought it used so did not get a manuel with it, but I think it's the same thing. I think it flashes to get peoples attention. Maybe it's a safety feature to help prevent fires.
