What does cosco scenera model 22216-llp

You should see a harness strap over each shoulder that goes though the shell, behind the seat, and connects to a metal splitter plate.

The front of the harnesses (2) extend down though the buckle tongues then into the hip area of the seat.

There is a crotch strap that comes out of the shell where the child\'s crotch is. The buckle is attached to this strap.

There will be a LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) strap that goes through one of two belt paths. If used, this strap must go though the proper belt path.

Finally, there is a top tether strap the comes from the back of the seat - near the top - that will attach to the tether anchor in your car (see your car owner\'s manual)

My suggestion to you is to purchase a new seat. The protection of your child is most important.

How to Install a Child Seat

FOR LARGER KIDS: If the child is over 35lbs, use the belt and shoulder harness as you would an adult and simply extend the belt over the seat. You do not need to install any of the built in straps.

1) If your child is under 35lbs get the locking clip that came with the seat if you have a seat with a shoulder harness attached. Otherwise, it isn't necessary. Pull the shoulder harness down to the base of the waste strap and then use the locking clip to bind it into place.

2) For a smaller child you will need to install the built in straps like so.

3. Set the seat in place running the waist strap through the back of the seat and clipping it on the other side.

The LATCH System for the Evenflo Symphony 65 car seat is too short for 08 Yukon.

1. Make certain you are using the correct belt path.
2. Follow the instruction manual and use the seat belt for install.
If you need help (most parents do) contact a local Child Passenger Safety Technician (or equivalent if you are not in the USA) for help.
Correct installation is critical to the safety of your child. Don't guess!

I took the straps off and can not put them back, can you help?

The Long strap goes under the seat and comes up thru 2 holes (each end goes up thru each side). The holes are on each side of where the child sits. They come up and weave into the latches that snap into the **** clasp. Upward toward where the child's head would be they go thru the chest clasp. Look at the writing on the clasp to make sure it is on right (letters read the name Cosco and arent upside down) and the belts should be behing the clasp (in at the bottom of the clasp and out at the top). Up thru the holes on the back of the chair at the height appropriate for the childs body. Out the back and down to the claw that is on a strap under the front that you can pull to tighten or press to release slack as the child gets bigger. There should be 1 or 2 (usually 2) slots for the ends of the straps to be slid on to. Sit the child in the car seat and adjust the belt system so that a finger can be slid between the belts and the child's shoulders. This should do the trick. Good luck and be safe.

Minimum Child weight for booster

Most seat-belt positioning boosters require the child to be at least 30 pounds. Many states say 4 years old and 40 pounds is the minimum.

Maturity is by far the most important thing, though. The child isn't ready to be in a seat-belt only booster until he can be trusted to sit up with his back straight and his bottom back ALL the time - if he moves around, the seat belt will not stay in a proper, safe place.

A seat with a 5 point harness is infinitely safer - in an accident, a child in a seat-belt positioning booster can be thrown forward and around the safety wings of a high back booster or, with a low back booster, be thrown into the sides/seats of the car - both substantially increase the risk of head injury. They can also slip down under the seat belt (called submarining), which can cause major internal injuries.

If you are determined to make the move to a seat-belt positioning seat, though, here's my thoughts on the two we've tried. The Graco Turbobooster is very popular with our friends, is inexpensive, easy to use, etc. Personally, we prefer the Compass B-510. It is more expensive, but it seems a LOT sturdier and has a bigger, nicer headrest/side wings with EPS foam for side-impact protection. The arm rests also flip up, to make it easier for the kid to get in and out and to do the seat belt. It comes in lots of great patterns, oldest son adored his camo print booster and rode in it with no fuss until after he turned 9. He says it is WAY more cushioned and comfortable than the turboboosters.

If I can talk you into staying in a harnessed seat =) .... Most of the less expensive 5 point boosters only harness to 40 pounds, but Graco recently put out the Nautilus, which harnesses to 65 pounds and then converts to a belt positioning booster, so you can get years of use out of it. It's considerably less expensive than most of the other higher harness weight seats (i.e. Britax Regent, Sunshine Kids Radian) - we actually own all three of those varieties, and I like the Nautilus just as much as the Regent and MORE than the Radian.
Another less expensive higher harness weight seat is the Apex 65, but it requires the seat of the CAR to be at least as tall as the child's ears...when the child's ears reach the car's seat back, it's outgrown, because it's headrest isn't reinforced like the others are. Unless you have really tall seat backs, it won't last you nearly as long as the others. It also is supposed to turn into a belt-positioning booster, but I've heard from numerous people that it's really no good as a belt positioning only seat.

LATCH Attached?

The latch can be used in the rear facing position.

On mine there was a screw which secured the nylon to the seat.

You need to remove the screw and remove the LATCH belt.

The LATCH belt must then be threaded through the belt location under the child's seat, rather than behind.

Pay attention if there are any arrows on your LATCH belt which point up, so that you thread the belt the right way. Remember that the seat is going to be rear facing! : )

On the side of my seat it shows a picture with the LATCH in use, threaded underneath the child's seat. Maybe your shows this too.

Hope this works for you!
