You will have to remove the floppy drive from your pc or tilt the whole thing forward whilst pushing in the flap that covers the floppy drive entrance, it should then drop out

To remove the message just go to bios, press f2 when you turn on your computer, press enter in boot menu, set first boot in hdd and second boot in cdroom (using + - key)and disable boot from floppy by pressing the space bar
Go to advance and if there is any setting about swap or seek from floppy make it disable

I have a HP Compaq dc5100 MT Windows XP Professional. Device manager says that the floppy drive is working properly. The problem is I can locate the external bay for the floppy drive. The CD/DVD...

The specs on this unit do not show a FDD. If you see it in the Device Manager, It means that it is enabled in the BIOS. You can disable if you wish.

You can install a FDD in one of the 3.5 slots. the drives cost lesthan $20.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

I need to know what order to put the wires from the mother Bord to the floppy drive to the cd Rom\burner to the hard drives

The floppy drive has it own data cable and does not connect to the same cable as the hard drive and CD ROM/R-W drive.
If the hard drive and CD drive are IDE devices, then the hard drive should be the connected to the connector at the end of the IDE cable and the jumper on the hard drive set to Master. The CD drive should be connected to the middle connector and its jumper set to Slave. The other end connector should be connected to the Primary IDE connector on the motherboard.

Machine won't recognize CD-ROM after harddrive format

When booting up select whichever key gets you into the Bios. Normally either F2 or delete. Once in the Bios, find the boot up sequence and by the instructions that will be there to change the sequence change it to Floppy Drive, then CD Rom, then your hard drive with Windows on it. Press F10 to save and reboot.

Can you put a memorex 2 hd 3.5 in your laptop to scan pictures? if so how do you remove the disk from the plastic cover?

You can't remove this cover, if you do it will be damaged permanently. If your laptop have a floppy drive then you can do , if not there is a few ways around it, put the floppy in your desktop floppy drive and copy pictures to my pictures folder and then send them to your email address or place them as documents and do an attachment, but you must be able to insert this 2hd in a (floppy drive) or you can copy this disk to a memory stick!

The short answer is no. Because of the aged technology of XP it will only recognize A drive (floppy) . A USB flash drive won't work either. You have to use a slipstrem utility like "nlite" and burn a special XP CD that should have your SATA driver integrated into. You can load the SATA driver from computer makers' support site. If you have a CD burner and a working computer you can make a slipstream XP CD by following the instructions available.

System recovery Floppy

you can purchase locally a usb floppy drive and download some small utilities in the internet that can be fit in the floppy disk, but i suggest that better use memory stick because it is cheaper and you can have more space than floppy disk.
