It came with the password but i want to change it
Follow below steps to change your netgear router password:
Connect your computer, modem and router with each other Open any browser > type routerlogin,net to open netgear router login webpage
Enter default ID password (Admin, password)
The BASIC Home page displays.
Select ADVANCED option > Administration > Set Password.
Type the old password, and type the new password, confirm new password.
Select the Enable Password Recovery check box for password recovery in future.
Click on Apply button to save all your settings.

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

Enter the router user name and password when prompted.
The default user name is admin. The default password is password.
The BASIC Home page displays.
Enter your new user name in the Name.
Enter your new password in the Password.
Click the Apply button.
Your changes are saved.
