If it blew the fuse, I would suggest there is a dead short somewhere. You will have to go through the wiring harness and see if any wires have been damaged or trapped and cut through to the frame of the bike. The frame is negative. The wiring will all be positive. If a bare wire touches the frame, it will blow the fuse.
FIRST of all you check all the items on the fuse that blows then remove all the fuses or wires to that item,i dident think the tail lights were 50 amp but still remove the plug from the rear lights and trace them to wards the front ,it sounds like a wire harness is trapped and shorten out about where the door shuts .where the tail gate closes.something under the floor .or under the body on chassis,but when you check all that works like nothing on the left of cab then thats where you start looking .or a wire hanging on the side of the engine ,but dont put in any more fuses untill you have checked out all possible wires either trapped or not .
Keep looking and you will find it AND only use the amp fuses the book says nothing bigger as a dead short wont only blow it can cause a FIRE.

u blew ur fuse look the fuses under dash replace the ones u blew n u more likely blew 1/2/3-4 under dash to check them u sent back current thru live wires n grounded wires that arent suposse to have juice going thru to etc. u may even zap ur altnator the few times ive crisscrossed them i fried altnator or fuse but thats what fuses are meant for to much of one or another current to it zaps cuts off electricity going to so it dont zap it protects the main area from being fried so easily
Was the original windscreen a heated windscreen?? If so, has the wire that feeds this been trapped causing a short which is blowing a fuse which also feeds the dead items?? Maybe theres an inline fuse for these items located in the kick panel. If it was fitted professionally, I`d have a word with them, they should sort it out, they caused the problem, not you. Ian
Common sources of battery draw:
Water and/or mud in side of the trailer wiring connector, especially the 7 pin with the trap door to hold it all in, keep those pins coated with dielectric grease.
Rusted/broken bracket on the underhood light not allowing switch to turn it off.
Glovebox door out of adjustment and latching but not turning off glovebox light.
And not to mention all those improperly added features like CD Players, CBs, Bass Systems, etc.
If these are not it read on, this test requires some experience and could zap you or your pacemaker so use common sense.
You can usually narrow your search with a 12volt automotive test light and the following method.
Open hood and drivers door and leave open for the duration of this procedure so that you have access to fuse panel, block door buzzer button so it won't be buzzing and unplug underhood light. Remove the fuse for the radio/clock to prevent false readings(the clock can drain your battery in 4 weeks), remove the positive terminal from battery. Now place one end of test light onto battery cable and other end on battery terminal, the test light should light, you will now need to wait at least 15 minutes for vehicle computer to go to sleep. Now when you come back from lunch and the test light is still lit, you most likely have a short. One at a time remove fuses from fuse panel until the test light goes out, when it does now you know which circuit it is in, and with the help of HAYNES manual (which contains wiring diagrams you should be able to pin-point the culprit). Repair it, put clock fuse back in(reset your favorite stations) Drive-on!
you have probably blown some fuses, remove and replace. check your relays too. Probably caused by putting jump lead from negative to positive or vise versa.
First off, now, check the large fuses in the box on the fender. That is hopefully why nothing works now. If not, you may have REALLY messed something up. That is what they are for though, and should have caught the zap. If you get everything back where you can turn the motor over, and it still will not start, try to reset the security lock down. Put the key in the door and lock/unlock 5 times. It should start then.
