SOURCE: We have a sharp cash

Hi Wellsey,
The error "E34" means there is on overflow limitation error.
This means that the amount tendered is greater than how the machine is set-up to accept.
Try entering a smaller amount pressing TL/NS then enter the balance given or even break the amount up to three or four entries, the machine will show the outstanding amount to pay each time and deduct each entry from that balance.
Having done that and finalising the transaction you will then need to do the following to prevent this from happening again.
Refer to page 46 of your operators manual and set the parameters of job67 to those that suit the country that you are in.
Regards
Gavin.

Rec/pto would not stop printing on xe-a203 cash register how can i stop it

If your Sharp XE-A203 cash register is not stopping printing receipts or transaction records, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Clear any pending transactions: Press the "CA/AT/NS" key to cancel any ongoing transaction and clear the display. If there are any pending transactions in the register's memory, complete or void them to clear the system.
  2. Check the paper roll: Make sure the paper roll is not jammed or empty. Replace the roll with a new one if necessary, and ensure that it is loaded correctly.
  3. Reset the cash register: Press and hold the "RC/ON" key for five seconds to reset the register. This will clear any error codes and may resolve the issue.
  4. Check the programming: Make sure the register is set up correctly and that there are no programming errors. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to check and reprogram the register.
  5. Seek technical assistance: If the issue persists, contact Sharp support or a qualified technician for further assistance. There may be a hardware issue that needs to be addressed.
It's essential to ensure that the problem is resolved promptly as continuous printing can lead to a waste of paper and ink, which can be costly in the long run.

How do i print the last transaction from when the printer was disabled without an invoice #?

Often you can just press enter and that will allow the last transaction to display, if that does not work, you might have the ability to enter in an invoice number you know to be accurate and then enter that number and see if you have a next option or previous option. hope this helps.

I cannot connect my sharp xe-a506 cash register to my computer. my computer's OS is windows 7 (64 bit) and i cannot find a driver for the cash register.

http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx?model=XE-A406

It took me a while to find the Windows 7 64-bit driver for the XE-A506, but apparently it is located under the XE-A406 version. Eventually, this one worked for me: but don't forget to run the program as administrator (properties - compatibility - "Run this program as an administrator").

By the way, the manual was a bit unclear on how to install the drivers (for me at least). This is the whole process that actually got it working in my case:

  • Go to "Devices and Printers"
  • Right-click the device under Unspecified - select "Properties"
  • Select the "Hardware" tab
  • Open "Properties"
  • In the "General" tab, select "Change Settings"
  • Select the "Driver" tab
  • Here the option for "Update Driver..." should be available, open it
  • Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
  • Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
  • Press "Have Disk" (sometimes this option isn't immediately available, first press "Next" in that case)
  • Select "Browse"
  • Head to the location where the driver (*.inf) is downloaded, something like "Downloads\SHARP XE-A406_A506 SOFTWARE - 64bit\Sharp XE-A406_A506\Setup\program files\SHARP ECR TOOL\XE-A406506 Customer Support Tool\Driver\Win64" and select it
  • Press "Open"
  • Press "OK"
  • Press "Next". The driver should now install.
And again, don't forgot to Run as Administrator when starting the software: without this, I still couldn't upload data to the device.
