If there is a filter change it or use more of the water so it does not sit too long and get stale

Okay so i had the same problem too but with both water and ice. What you do is if your refrigerator is new then the first 4 batches of ice discard, this is will get rid of the plastic taste. With the water get a big container and press the lever for 5 seconds then let it sit for 5 seconds then repeat for about 2 minutes. This fixed it for me and hopefully it fixes the problem for you

Nasty tasting ice cubes

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

Why does the ice from ice maker have an awful smell and taste? Is there a filter that needs to be replaced?

i found that the previous homowners hooked the icemaker to soft water instead of hard water. Once I changed it to hard water, both ice cubes and water tasted fine.

Icemaker in brand new fridge makes ice that tastes like mildew

brand new?OK...first,did you flush the water filter by dispencing 2 pitchers of water through the door.wait, that it.basicly the water in your ice maker is the same water that comes out of your tap.you may find that you dont like the filtered water, there should be a bypass plug that can go in place of the filter.solution wise thats about it.

Terrible Plastic After-Tast in Dispensed Water (Refrig)

If indeed it is stagnant water you have to find the water source tap off of your water supply. Then trace out the routing of the feed water line to your refrigerator. Turn off the tap, remove the line at both ends. You can abandon the existing line. Reroute the new line. or you can remove the old line and follow the same route. Reconnect the tap and refrigerator ends.

We just bought a new frigidare refrigerator with a new icemaker installed its been a week and keep dumping the cubes..terrible taste really no smell though.. any suggestions?

Do not use a metal braided line or a vinyl braided line. Get the plastic ice maker tubing and that will fix it. I learned the hard way and now ice taste great.

Ice tastes like plastic. New LG French Door.

I sure hope you are using an in-line filter for starters, then if the ice still tastes bad, check the source line.
