SOURCE: washer fills with water, then nothing happens.
This problem is commonly attributed to a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug.
If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

SOURCE: Washer filled up with water and then nothing.
It is probably due to the drain pump. You need to take the drain pump out
and make sure that nothing is jamming it,if it is clear and still does this
then drain pump will need to be replaced on the unit.
SOURCE: samsung washer won't fill with water
It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect. If thewater flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad orthere is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the waterline. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally apressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal tothe program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for themotor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door isshut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.Check thislink to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html
