Question about Toshiba Qosmio G15 Notebook

RE: Tea spilled on Toshiba Qosmio G15 Keyboard

Saved computer, everything boots, starts and runs with no problems via mouse - keyboard just doesn't fully respond - and I get like 6 beeps when the computer does start up. I figured it is the keyboard issue. So - Found a new keyboard i can order for 41 - 49 bucks and just not sure how to change it out. I did see where it connects to the computer - via some slim tape wiring with what looks like a small parallel port connection - something like that anyway. Just wondering how hard it is to change a keyboard out on this model, anyone? Thanks so much, Allen

Re: RE: Tea spilled on Toshiba Qosmio G15 Keyboard

Simple swap! You need to turn over the PC, Locate all of the screws on the back, most of them will be identified by a circle with a K in the middle for Keyboard. Unscrew all of those screws, becertain to get them all. Once you have done that make certain to carefully remove the keyboard. The keyboard is attached to one connection that snaps into the mother board so do not pull too hard on the keyboard! It is that simple!

I spilled I tea on my Gateway FX keyboard and mousepad. The keys are working now but I'm worried they will get sticky. I cleaned up as much as possible by patting with a towel to soak up the tea. ...

Before you do anything, unless it is already dried, (turn it off first!) turn the laptop upside down and gently tap the back to coax any liquid out. Then do NOT turn it on until it is totally dried. You can clean the keys and pad it with a DAMP (NOT wet) cloth with plain soap and water. Be careful not to get any water down into the keyboard itself so it doesn't short it out. However this will not clean whatever liquid may have gone inside. Hopefully none did else you could end up with a bigger problem...

Spilled iced tea on toshiba satellite A55-S1064 keyboard

Sorry for the inconvinience caused to you.
1. When it happens 1st immediatly u have to remove the battery and AC/DC power.
2. If you have blower then blow the air through it untli the tea particles fly away.
3. Wipe it with a soft cloth. Check wether keys are sticky or functioning well after cleaning.
4. If it is same problem then you have to remove the keypad and clean the board. To do this you need to open the laptop.
5. Else you have to replace the keyboard section.

If the problem was not resolved. Its better to consult a technical person.

Thanks & regards
Nanda Kishore.

Spilled Water on Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV513

If you are pretty good at computers then you can open up the computer and see just how bad the damage is. You may need to replace the keyboard, or a few parts of he mother board. If it was water I think you would have more of a chance, but the sugar will definitely cause problems if it hit any circuit boards. Your best bet is to take out your hard drive, make it an external hard drive and get a new computer.

pop the keyboard and look on the board next to the clock battery. You should see three jumper points, WITH THE POWER OUT AND ALL BATTERIES DISCONNECTED, short terminals 1 and 2 with the end of a flat bladed screwdriver. Replace all power sources and reconnect the power.

Pop the enter key off (be gentle), then take a Q-tip with alcohol (rubbing not drinking) and clean the connector and the rubber riser. If the problem persists, the you will have to replace the keyboard.

I had the same problem, what you need to do is call Pamela Saunders at Toshiba Corporate in Irving, CA and she will get it repaired for you at no cost to you regardless of warranty. This is a bad batch of computers.

The Phone Number is: 800-457-7777 or 949-462-6000
