The control panel has been locked. If you look closely and read the small print on the control panel it will usually tell you how to unlock it.

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This could be the child lock display.
Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.
Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.
Works for other machines..............

lots of machine use a lock out mode to prevent children from playing with the machines. Not familiar with siemens equipment

key symbol means the unit is locked. It should be there in the manual. Also try
unplugging the machine for 1 minute .It will reset the washing machine.
