Question about Dell Dimension 5100 (D51L1) PC Desktop

Computer problem My dad is having a problem with his computer.  Whenever he turns it on the computer it appears that everything has been disabled.  He worked with it and finally fixed it by going to the control panel and going to network connections and clicked on enable.  This fixed everything and the next day it did the same thing.  Does anyone know why it keeps doing this?  It is an old computer but would that have anything to do with it disabling itself?

I cannot access facebook on my computer I can get everything else on the internet but facebook , can you help me

Hi Garry,

More often than not, Facebook disables an account because of some violation of the site's rules, namely the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. Most people don't bother to read this legal - if more folks did, there'd be fewer disabled accounts.
However, mistakes do happen, but the social network's staff will own up to an error if pointed out as such. Of course, Facebook users love to complain about these instances, but compared to how many other technology companies handle glitches - well, we're not complaining.
Certainly, whenever you're the one with the blocked account, feelings of frustration can make it seem like the site is out to get you. Please know that's not so. Try this and see if you can contact them...

Try a good clean up.
Turn system restore OFF Lots of nasties hide there (Because its protected)
boot into safe mode with networking (F8)
Download Malwarebytes, and full scan
Download CCleaner run cleaner / registry cleaner / tools startup, you can disable just about everything apart from your antivirus, you can then re enable each item that you need.
Defrag, i use auslogics defrag with their screensaver defrag (all free)

Werfault.exe -application error\r\n

You can try to disable this service by following the below steps:
Step 1: Open your computer's Control Panel by selecting "Start" > "Control Panel" from your computer's Start menu.
Step 2: Choose the "System and Maintenance" > "Problem Reports" menu option from the Control Panel menu.
Step 3: Select "Change Settings" > "Advanced Settings" from the Problem Reports program menu and turn off the automatic problem reporting feature in Windows.
Step 4: Exit the Problem Reporting application by selecting "File" > "Exit" from the File menu. Werfault.exe will now only run on your computer in the event of a catastrophic application problem.

If disabling the application does not work, y
ou should keep in mind that many malware programs can show up on your system as seemingly legitimate files by using file names that are very similar to those of legitimate files. Whenever you are in doubt about a particular file, always scan your system for viruses.

Bios date and time problem

You need to replace the cmos battery in your computer. Theu are usually Cr2032 batteries which you should be able to pick up for about £1.

unplug your computer and open the case.
When you look at the motherboard you should be able to easily locate the cmos battery cliped onto the mobo.
Take the old battery out and insert the new one.
put the case back on and plug the pc into the mains again.
You will need to re-enter the date etc the next time you boot up, but the settings should be retained after that.

Monitors wont work

It appears that you have a faulty graphics card.
If the graphics card is integrated with the motherboard then it cannot be repaired. Just purchase a new AGP graphics card, insert it into the AGP slot and connect your monitor to this card.
You may need to go to the BIOS setup to disable the on-board graphics card.
If you don't have an integrated graphics card, then buy a replacement graphics card.
You will need to install the new graphics drivers after installing the graphics card.

My computer went back to older clock date as 1610

try starting your computer in safe mode and see if you can do anything productive there, like scanning for viruses or spyware. also check if you can do the following:
CTRL+ALT+DEL (open task manager)
goto Start>Run>Regedit (open registry editor)
goto Start>Control Panel>Display>Properties (change display settings)
right click on clock at tray and change the current time to correct settings

if you cannot do any of these activities, then your computer may probably been compromised by a virus or malware.
