I logged on because my dad is having the same problem today as well. We can't figure it out. We have three Garmin 530's in our hunting group and two work fine. But when my Dad's transmits it sends the position and I can hear a the on and off click with some white noise but no voice. Any ideas?

I'm having exactly the same problem -- all worked fine when we put the unit away last year -- now... radio receives but doesn't transmit -- only location.

I have the same problem and so does to other hunting partners of mine. To fix my Garmin I have to remove the battery from the back and then the screws, open it just a little, not all the way and close again. For some reason that fixes my problem, but not my brothers or my friends. Garmin replaced my brothers 530 and now my friend is trying to get his replaced also. Mine is out of warranty, however I can fix mine. The same fix, slightly opening the back, doesn't fix either of theirs. I, like you, if you're reading this paid alot of money for my 530 and is ridiculous that these units haven't had a recall or software/hardware fix when so many people have the same issue. Has anyone solved this yet, my problem is a temp fix and has to be done almost everytime I go hunting.

Did this start happening after the latest download? If so re load the current version of the software and do not turn off the radio until the download is complete. Please answer back and let me know.

Voice recognition on motorola t5500

That means that it will Transmit, like pressing the "Talk" button, BUT ONLY when it hears the "Voice" it was "Trained" on. So this is so No-one else could use this unit. With this method. You "Identify" yourself, and after that every-time you speak, the Transmitter is keyed, and the channel is opened and the voice sent, when you stop talking,it goes back to receive, again. Some are less sophisticated, in that they are really a "Sound Switch" and when the unit "Hears" a "Voice" it, switches OFF receive, and ON the transmitter, and Transmits the audio out.

No audio Transmit

Try a hand mic with the set, there may be a short within the radio. If not your problem is with the audio amp in the radio itself.Repair should be about $15.00.

My garmin 520 radio does not transmit voice you can hear taps on the microphone and blowing into it but no voice even if u yell. it is less than one year old and has yet to be used.

You need to have this on a service monitor to see what if any frequency deviation is occuring when you transmit. You could have a defective mic or you could have a deviation setting set to low, whixh with th emodern radios is something you may or may not have to set within the program. "Back in the day" we set the deviation manually with a tweak of a pot while looking at a deviation meter and injecting 1K audio tone riding the carrier

Garmin 760 phone feature

Did you check the settings for the sound output? If it is set to FM-receiver, you have to tune your radio to the same frequency as the 760 transmitting frequency. To get sound from 760-device, you must deselect the FM-transmitting feature.
(I don´t think this solves your problem. Too obvious.)

Staying keyed up after button release

I have never seen this problem before, check if the VOX is activated, this could cause to transmit the radio, but the voice must be transmited. check if the Accesory connector is not dirty, clogged or damaged
