Question about Kitchen Ranges

Air is escaping from the lower oven on the bottom edge. It is blowing hard. Is this normal? I have the upper oven on tru convection baking potatoes and the lower oven was on bake baking brownies. Should air be coming out on the bottom edge of the lower door?

No, the door gasket is leaking hot air, you're loosing hot cooking air. Check the door gasket.

Top burners OK. On convect bake the oven will heat up to set temperature then shut off and cool down. Normal bake function seems to work ok.

I want to use top and bottom ovens but at different temps - how do I do this


To Set a Cook T ime:
1. On double oven models only, press UPPER OVEN or LOWER
OVEN for the one you want to set.
2. Press BAKE or CONVECT UPPER (on some models).
Press the number pads to enter a temperature other than the
one displayed.
3. Press COOK TIME.
4. Press the HR and MIN "up" or "down" arrow pads to enter
the length of time to cook.
5. Press START/ENTER.
The start time and stop time countdown will appear on the
oven display.
On double oven models only, when both upper and lower
ovens are being used at the same time, touch UPPER OVEN
or LOWER OVEN to display the respective cook time.
When the stop time is reached, the oven will shut off
automatically and "End" will appear on the oven display.
If enabled, end-of-cycle tones will sound, then reminder
tones will sound every minute.
Repeat the process by choosing the other option of UPPER or LOWER OVEN

Do you see any Error Message on the Display?

If not, then it should not be a Concern. More often this could be Thermal Fuse on the Back of the Unit ( On Most Models ) will stop the Broil and Bake from Turning ON. You would just start a bake cycle and the temperature will sit at 100 and something degrees and never raise.appliance.

Let me know, once you check the same.

My upper oven/ convection function on my dacor ecs230b will not heat


Bake and convection bake settings both use the bottom bake element to heat. It would be unusual for bake to work without conv. bake working. You also have pure convection which uses a different element surrounding the conv. fan on the back of the unit. If you press a feature and nothing happens it's the touch pad. If it comes on then turns back off it's probably the ERC (clock). If it comes on and wont heat only in pure conv. possibly an upper relay board or element problem.

When baking bread in my Kenmore electric range (9435) the loaves on the bottom rack burn on the bottom and the ones on the higher rack take almost 2X as long to cook


In an electric range, the ideal place for baking is the middle shelf. there are temperature differences within the oven cavity. On the bottom shelf the heating elements actually "broil" the bottom of the pan. In the upper part of the oven, the temperature is lower, being blocked by the lower pans. A convection style oven is more ideal for bread baking.

Elements in convection oven won't heat


DO you have a model number for that. I'm almost sure it's a thermal fuse in the back of the oven. Usually they go out during or after cleaning but that would shut down both elements. If you have the model (usually by the inside door look all over and up in the cavity) Then if you go to this link

P.S. if it the fuse it's a cheap fix, little hard to get in back of the oven but cheap!

Delonghi range oven


Bake- Normal convection- both upper and lower heating elements.

Conv. Bake- Semi-forced convection- both upper and lower elements, heat is then distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Broil- radiation- The heat is radiated by the ifrared broil element.

Broil & Fan- Radiation and Ventilation- The radiated heat from the infra-red broiling element is distributed throughout the oven via the fan.
