I have a Phillips LX3950W home theater system. On the display it reads "No Disc" (dvd movie) When I take the disc out I can play it on the other DVD machine, it doess this not with all the...

The player works speed sensor for drive. Home produced or scratches videos are harder for it to read and if after a certain time interval of not being able to read it the player goes to a default(No Disc). A lot of times this is a mechanical problem which can be solved by lubricating the rod that the laser reader rides on as well as the DVD holder which grabs the disc, I use silicone lube. It does require removing the cover of the unit and removing part of the drive. Good luck..

Here is a link for your manual. It will be faster than telling you how to hook it up. Don't be mislead by first numbers you see in the left corner. Should be the correct manual for your home theater system.

DVD home theater system

Disc is either to scratched or may have a hairline crack on disc. If this happens to all of your disc's, then you have a laser read problem. This can be caused by high humidity as well as dust and debri. Try blowing the unit out with canned air.
